I purchased the NDC nato at the Brighton Watch Show in 2019 from the owner of the company. I have had 2 spring bar failures in the past prior to using the nato system. I really like the NDC products and received first class service. Highly recommended.

I’ve had two spring bar failures. The last one was a few months ago. I hit my watch (Sinn 103A) on the side of a wooden chair. The spring bar popped out. I was wearing a NATO. I found the spring bar and put it back together. Four or Five years ago I was hiking with my son and noticed my Marathon hanging from my NATO by one spring bar. The corner of the plastic case of the watch broke where the spring bar was attached. I don’t remember if I lost the spring bar. I explained what happened and Marathon took the watch back. I got the watch back at no cost. I’m not sure if it was a new watch just a replacement case. Either way it was outstanding customer service. I still have the watch. We’d climbed up a rocky part of the trail. I don’t know what caused the watch to break. I just looked at their website for the model of the watch. It’s the 41mm Pilots Navigator. They’re on sale for $149.95. Looks like it’s been replaced with a watch with a sapphire crystal.

I did have a Springbar failure, right at the moment I jumped into the water for a dive. Thanks to my nato, the watch-head was still secured on my wrist and I could take it off and stowe it away in my diving vest, instead of searching for it on the ocean floor :D

I just received my NDC (green parachute) strap for my Seiko Flight Master and it looks and wears great! It took a couple weeks to arrive from England and it is a bit pricy for what it is, but it is the real deal and really makes my Flighty look great. You video was helpful in figuring out how to put the strap on and wear it (I fold the first flap back like in your example).

The only springbar That ever failed was using a nato. That springbar was an aftermarket one I had replaced...not an issue

I would have thought the MN strap would go well with a bronze watch, but something about that combination did not work for me. Would have liked to see you put it on a few different options to compare.

You know Bob, the more watch bands I see on the wrists, the more I see that most are too large. A wrist strap buckle should wind up in the middle of the underside of one's wrist, and the pointed end should be buckle pinned in the middle of the 6 or 7 holes that are punched into the fabric. This was brought to my attention by Michael Knapp of Michael Knapp Leather. He did my sports strap, and he does a great job. There is no reason why strap makers (regardless of the material), should not provide different sizes to make them fit well. Yeah, mother goose's Marine Nationale straps fit better, but there is nothing like having authentic 60's parachute cord. I will go this route for my Yema Superman 63.

NDC,,, Does that loose end come out of place, stick out to the side after wearing for a while? I don't like how much strap is used, 3 blummin layers at some part. I saw a video of the paratrooper strap where the guy was saying the silly lose end is a pain.

I have a Seiko Flightmaster SND255 I use for a daily work watch. While working installing conduit under a pier on a Naval base the spring bar broke. Thankfully it is on a Crown & Buckle nato strap. I didnt realize the spring bar had broke till I felt the watch head flopping around on my wrist after I came up topside. Just installed another spring bar and it's as good as new.👍

Joshua Evilsizer : I have both and, while the NDC is really rugged (should last a lifetime) and very comfortable, Erika’s gets my nod. The quality is excellent (very close to NDC, if not identical, but a little more stretchy) and much easier to get on wrist. They are both very expensive, so give Luff a look ... which I own too 😊. What can I say, I love green elastic straps! The Luff straps are thinner (which is a plus on my turtle), but still sturdy enough to last a long time and extremely comfortable. Luff would be my recommendation if you are not yet sure if elastic is your thing.

I only own two ‘military’ watches and both have fixed strap bars (not spring bars). I can’t understand the point of a military strap that can’t be fitted to a military watch. I’ll be sticking to Zulus and NATO’s.
