Ndamukong Suh came within a second a leading Nebraska to an upset win over #3 Texas in the 2009 Big 12 Championship Game. While he may have not gotten the W, Suh still had one of the greatest defensive performances in college football history. Suh even finished 4th in the 2009 Heisman Voting as a DEFENSIVE LINEMAN!

I've watched college football as a religion for 24 years now, born to a Georgia mother and Nebraska father, and Suh has been the most dominant player I've ever seen on either side of the ball. He could absolutely ruin your entire game plan by himself, from the first snap. Just pure unadulterated violence and aggression.

Suh and Donald are my favorite players ever to watch. Don't get me wrong I like the Earl Campbells and Barry Sanders ones too but I played the most fucked up combination of positions in high school and out of all of them interior D Line was my favorite. I was a nose guard because my hand violence was the best in the state. I'd describe it like if you are in a fight and just rage, but with a purpose and intention, I was just good at that and incredibly quick off the ball (especially against people 100lbs more than me). But then that made me a good TE, slot WR, and sometimes fullback as well. That is what makes watching these two so enjoyable. They don't have the same jobs as your standard DT. They aren't supposed to fill a certain gap, or contain anything what so ever. They are given the order to create chaos any and every way they deem fit. Thats why those two are so fun to watch

I still haven't gotten over this game. The extra second aside, we didn't have the championship mentality when we made the same stupid mistake I've seen teams make so many times and it always ends in a loss-that damn squib kick. You give them the ball at their own 40 yard line. Now your defense is under enormous pressure because all they have to do is make a few plays and they get the fg. That aside Suh should have won the Heisman-look above for the reason why.

I’ve said this time and time again, I can’t think of any other time that two Heisman finalists were literally on the same field at the same time, and it is clearly obvious who was superior of the two. That should have factored into the Heisman voting, and even if Suh didn’t win, he should have placed ahead of McCoy. I remember watching this game, not long after the comeback of “The Quarter” during the Missouri game.
