Gary Snyder is one of the most under rated persons of our times. He truly is the father of deep ecology. He summons us to return to an earth reverent lifestyle.

I found him to be a personal avatar, from age 18 in '75. He helped me think about every choice in life, about nature, really about everything.

Snyder's poetry is about deep ecology. They transcend the ordinary. The poetry of Snyder is a call for us to return back to the eco-friendly lifestyle. Those eco-poems are deeply spiritual.

I had to read EARTH HOUSE HOLD in my Existentialism class when I started college in the American Midwest in '75 with a Mr. Reed as prof. I still have the book I bought second hand. Snyder made me rethink my course in life and I am going to think about sharing this with a young British woman just out of university and young and wondering what to do with herself. Very nice posting, uprated. I am now in France and am 56 now, such a life I have had, Snyder was a tiny part of my thinking!
