bruh i feel mostly bad for the trainees!!😭😭 like its all freakin sm’s fault for ruining this whole nct tokyo project & experience especially for nctzens.. like they literally decided to change plans for it very last minute!?? and basically showed how low the proper understudy future planning for their trainees..not to mention the absolute lack of empathy or care for fans!! especially after realizing that the original unit lineup was literally waiting for yushi’s 19th birthday so they followed sm’s adults only rule which apparently got canceled too!?? srsly sm clearly giving up on nct brand seeing how they harmed one of its core values like that

I also think in the long run it is actually a great thing for Shotaro and Sungchan. In RIIZE they have more opportunities to shine because of their being less members. We also get to see them sooner. Also…NCTzen do this every time. I still remember when people talked badly when Sungchan and Shotaro were introduced into NCT. Everyone ended up eventually loving them and I imagine that will happen with the new darlings as well ☺️

perhaps this explanation from an old reddit post i read could help you understand nct concept but think of as NCT being like Vogue magazine, and goes as: NCT U is Vogue Special Edition (it changes with every season or occasion because with every comeback the lineup is different so their songs could have any of all units members and in any number) NCT 127 is Vogue Korea, made up to mainly promote in korea but also elsewhere just like any other kpop group. NCT DREAM is Vogue Teen (its main concept was to be an open unit made of only teenagers rule, where those who become adults leave to either another fixed unit or wait for one of the future fixed units..but all that got canceled and now no one is leaving and its a fixed unit with its same original lineup) NCT WayV is Vogue China, made to mainly target the chinese market while also promote in korea and elsewhere..but unfortunately due to political tensions between korea & china, they have been struggling to achieve the original goal..and sm seemingly now in the mid of deciding how they’ll function ig NCT Tokyo is Vogue Japan, which is an upcoming new unit which is made of absolutely new members! which is set to be the final and last unit and members to debut under the nct system or brand! (previous nct members shotaro,sungchan were supposed to debut in this unit along with smrookies shohei, eunseok, seunghan but sm canceled this plan suddenly and decided they would debut them in smnbg which is currently riize! while the new nct tokyo members were to be picked thru the program you mentioned “nct universe lastart” which isnt perceived well by many nctzens bc of how sm change their plans) *credit ofc goes to original op!! sorry dont know their name

Well you weren't wrong that they were the original unit😆although NCT U is a unit of NCT wherein members change depending on the song, given that they usually use this whenever they come together as a whole NCT like in 2018 with empathy, 2020 with Resonance, 2021 with universe, and 2023 with golden age - these albums MOSTLY consist of NCT U songs. This is why fans usually call the combination of certain members by a song name because they were together under an NCT U song. NCT U was the first ever unit that debuted under the NCT brand in 2016 and the debut song was 'The 7th Sense' consisting of Mark, Jaehyun, Taeyong, Doyoung, and Ten (before any of them were introduced as members of NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV) One of the reasons and probably the biggest reason why the song gained attraction when it was announced was because of the line up - Mark, Jaehyun, Taeyong, Doyoung, and Ten - the very same members of 'The 7th Sense' Unit, and we went crazy because this unit is legendary. Ant, any NCT 2018, 2020 or 2021 song that wasn't Wayv, dream or 127 is an nct u song. Some examples you've hear are like make a wish and universe. If you listen to their big collab albums almost all songs are nct u songs bc the whole point of nct u is to put people together who fit the vibes of the song. Hope this helps!

Honestly not sure how to feel about this song. Except for Ten's prechorus, its not really calling on me to listen to it again and i dont really plan on forcing it lol. I just don't think its quite my style musically which is fine. Crazy to think this could've been its own group though, these 5 are so incredibly talented i really wonder how they wouldve evolved musically since the 7th Sense.
