What makes "Baggy Jeans" extra special is that this is NCT-U's original debut lineup back together again. This is really just them going back to their roots. All 5 members -- Taeyong, Mark, Ten, Jaehyun and Doyoung -- were the very first members out of all of the NCT members to debut in April 2016. They were the first installment of NCT-U and the first of all of NCT's sub-units to be introduced to the world. Ten said not too long ago in an interview that he wanted to do another project with the members of their debut song "The 7th Sense" because it had been more than 7 years since he had done anything with just those members. I'm so happy that SM was listening and that his wish came true. *Taeyong (with the pink/purple and blue hair) is the leader of all of NCT, a main rapper and dancer; *Ten (the blond) is a main dancer -- one of the best dancers in the industry -- and a lead vocalist, who is a member of WayV; *Mark (the one that says "Boooyyy" with the mesh hoodie) is a main rapper and dance; *Jaehyun (the one with the sleeveless vest) is a main vocalist, sub-rapper and visual; and Doyoung (the one with the black button up shirt) is a main vocalist. (Taeyong, Mark and Ten are also members of SuperM.) NCT -- which stands for Neo (a pop culture term that means new/original) Culture Technology -- currently has 26 members. And the group right now as a whole has 5 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127, NCT-Dream, WayV and NCT-WISH. Therefore, their style is meant to be new and original with elements that embrace different cultures and technologies to create their sound. So yes, you're right, what you just heard is very Neo-style. Everything NCT does is about dreams, dreaming or being in a dream state. Therefore, that is what is being shown in their "Baggy Jeans" MV, and what you will see being repeated and referenced in all of their MVs across all of their sub-units. And on top of all that, it's often part of SM Entertainment's SM Culture Universe storyline, so it could be connected to all of SM's other groups' MVs and stories, which is why NCT MVs often have a futuristic, otherworld look and feel to them. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the group or song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL NCT-U is made up of all the NCT members, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs span a wide range of styles and genres and can include anywhere for all 26 current members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members. This sub-unit is designed to be fluid, which means the group is constantly changing and rearranging its members with every song. NCT is one of the most internationally diverse groups in all of Kpop. The members as a whole represent 8 different countries and they speak 7 or 8 different languages. For example, there are 11 native Korean members (*Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, *Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo, and new members Sion and Daeyoung), *Mark is Korean-Canadian, *Johnny is Korean-American (from Chicago), 5 Japanese members (Yuta and new members Riku, Yushi, Ryo and Sakuya), *Ten is Thai, *YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, they all live and work in Korea, so everyone speaks Korean fluently. Plus, many members have attended international schools or lived abroad, so there are several members who are also *fluent in English, on top of speaking 2 or more other languages. NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's original goal was to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. To that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with all English versions of song like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as U.S. concert tours and promotional tours with the American media, etc. So, this year is NCT's 8th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies (or the new members who were part of a reality survival show called LASTART), so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted.

Thèse are the founding fathers of NCT! Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun and Mark were the lineup of “The 7th Sense” which was NCT’s overall debut song in 2016 and is absolutely ICONIC. This is also the only NCT U lineup to repeat with a music video. There’s a couple other member lineups that have repeated with bsides but this was the most anticipated and needed. This was also the title track of the NCT 2023 Golden Age album which is a must listen.

😂 I totally understand not being able to put into words what the noisy bits does to my brain, usually it’s just bc NCT are so experimental my brain isn’t used to it and I fall in love with it once I become accustomed. There is also a reaction channel where classical musicians reacted to this and watching it helped me bring order to the chaos by breaking down the music theory. Lol there’s actually a meme whenever NCT is about to come back about how NCTzens are shaking in their boots bc anything can come out. I’ve accepted my fate 😂😂😂

The founding fathers of NCT :D 2023 was really a good NCT year. This song is one of my favourite ones.

Now you have to react to NCT U make a wish and 90' s love. The first one is kinda trippy song like baggy jeans (shotaro's debut in NCT) and the second one is sungchan's debut in the group.

The 5 Kings of NCT. The root of NCT back again... it was long over due but worth the wait to see them after debut. It was heart warming seeing them perform whole once again. Only these guys could have done 'Baggy Jeans' ... The Neo just builds a tall as Meru Peak. Great reaction guys... the noise kept building for her and there was no pause for her to breathe, that might be what occurred... that's what makes it intense and so good. *Mark saying 'Yeah Boy' was paying homage to Flavor Flav of the rap group 'Public Enemy'.

There are different brands of noise hahahaha 😂 I like a lot of noise sometimes, I'm more in tune with NCT Noise personally and I get the something is scratching at weird stuff feeling EVERY now and then otherwise.
