What's even more disrespectful about that interviewer "complimenting" Mark's and Johnny's English skills, wasn't just the fact that he knew nothing about the group, but if you watch that full interview, you would see that Mark had literally 2 seconds before that talked about how he was from Canada. So obviously that guy didn't even bother to listen to the conversation, or was dumb enough to not realize that they speak English in Canada. That is why Mark and Johnny reacted like that because they were like, "we just told you we were from Canada and Chicago, so of course our English is good, it's our native language." I really hope that guy read some of the comments on the post of the interview, which can still be found on that Fox News station website, or heard from viewers, and felt ashamed of himself. That's why American interviewers have such a bad reputation, because of people like him. Because they don't even bother to do any research about any of the groups they interview and end up sounding super dumb. Kpop culture and their relationships with fans is way different than western singer/musician culture and the interviewers usually ask Kpop artists really dumb questions, such as their craziest fan experience, expecting them to talk about something salacious. The interviewer usually has no idea what fans really mean to a Kpop group, how the fans are family and it's about the love and respect between the group and their fans, not about the bad behavior of a select few. So when a Kpop artist instead mentions something about how the fans have done something nice for them, the interviewer gets flustered and doesn't know how to react or follows it up with an even dumber comment or question. Kpop interviews by western interviewers are some of the most cringy and hard to watch. Because most of them you can tell know nothing about Kpop and they no little to nothing about the group they are interviewing.
