NCT DREAM 엔시티 드림 'Beatbox' MV | REACTION

Ойын-сауық

NCT DREAM new song! Beatbox. I wasn't sure what I was expecting to be honest. Like I mention in the video, I do have a pretty mixed feeling to it. I love some parts and especially the beats, but I'm not sure about chorus and the end part. Just to keep it 100 with you guys. let's see how I feel about it next week. And let me know what you guys thought!!
If enjoyed the video please make sure to give it a thumbs up and do not forget to subscribe as well. It would really help my channel 😉
Arigato for watching and stay safe,

    I really like it, and we have the same observation in the part where it is like highschool musical. I thought of that too in that part where they are in the bench. The more you listen to it the more you get addicted, that’s what usually SM’s type of songs. Very experiemental. I’m used with experimental song since I’m an Sm stan for 9yrs. maybe some can’t really connect to their sound since they are not yet used to it. But if you been with them for long, it gives you a different feeling. This is their repackage, as you can tell their repackage title tracks sound different from the first album. Just like how Hello Future lean towards more of Happy and chill vibe while Hotsauce is more intense. Same with this, Glimo is the intense one while Beatbox gives you more relaxing or brighter mood. NCT DREAM or NCT in general does very futuristic songs but sometimes they also blend some elements in the past. Just like the feel you get in 90’s Love. It’s kinda old school but also lean towards futuristic sounding. They are good at that. More like balancing the past and future generation of music.

    @@grapeintokyo I didn’t expect to get a reply but it’s nice you are considering to listen to it again🥺💚 I dunno what Jpop typically sounds like, but this is what NCT Dream’s type of music, bright and youthful. Though there are also hard hitting tracks like hotsauce and glimo even that contained that brighter vibe. Nct 127 are good at hard hitting experimental songs, Nct Dream represents the youth and WayV are more mature-like. That’s my observation.

    We appreciate the honesty!!!! Hearing the snippets of this song on TikTok, I did not like it. But listening to the full song, it’s a summer bop. It is very nostalgic, which is why I enjoy it so much! I don’t listen to Jpop, so I can understand why you might not find it different and exciting. Can’t wait to see the 127 Tokyo Dome vlog!!!

    I agree I'm a big fan of old Jpop boybands like SMAP, Kattun, Arashi etc, but as I'm getting older the style is not really suits to my ear, but I'm glad NCT Dream bringing the same style into more modern but still makes me want to walk down my memory lane. Perfect song to start the summer.

    You totally nailed it with the Jpop references and it sound like 2000 with Renjun part. In fact that part is quite viral among kfans and is called the S.E.S part (first gen group from SM) because of the vibes lol

    This song is so catchy, I was humming it just from the teasers. It is also fully of this retro 90’s moment in k-pop (NCT “90’s Love”, Astro “Just Breath”) and I know nothing of J-pop. But I lived through the 90’s, so the nostalgia resonated while the music and presentation are complete fresh interpretations. I also really like To My First that the boys mentioned in their MV Countdown live stream. Looking forward to your concert details!

    I understand and appreciate your opinion.. I definitely loved beatbox but won't lie I prefer glitch mode.. Felt more unique and outstanding.. It was hard for me to pick a favourite part of the song cos idk If any part caught my attention specifically but yeah that bridge was everything it saved the song for me... Also the choreo is another thing I admire about the song

    Hey, I would've to recommend GOT7 song lullaby album b-sides tracklist.. in this album, the 7 members got produced/writing for making solo song.. you can check it out JAYB - SUNRISE, MARK/JACKSON - OMW, JACKSON - MADE IT, JINYOUNG - MY YOUTH, YOUNGJAE - NOBODY KNOWS, BAMBAM - PARTY, YUGYEOM - FINE... They really have a good song to hear and I hope you will like it...

    I agree with you. Jpop is stuck in 2000's. I started listening to kpop because I got tired of Jpop. Every Jpop group looked and sounded the same while in Kpop there was so much diversity. And Kpop never stopped evolving.

    The mv definitely feels like an older JYP style mv - not SM's usual style. While I agree that innovation is important to keep certain things from getting old (except certain foods) & I can see why Jpop feels the way it does to you, the issue is that kpop while it is innovative it is now too commercialized & trying too hard to hit Western/global audiences & now basically is Western Music with a pretty Asian face... Kpop is losing its flavour by trying to be too global. I feel all 2022 kpop releases so far have been a let down... Also, I look forward to hearing about your 127 concert experience (*σ´∀`)σ

    I don’t know about it being Jpop and Jyp…If you were into SM back in 90’s, early 2000s and Shinee’s style. This is very SM music (experimental, upbeat, and NCT’s style of music) and the MV. The MV probably gives similar vibe with jyp but if you watched a lot of SM mvs they’ve done a lot of this style.

  • @Mr.Wilson1991

    @Mr.Wilson1991

    I'm not saying this song is Jpop - the Jpop comment was because he said that Jpop has stayed the same, while kpop is always innovative so he is drawn to it more. This specific MV has the same feel as GOT7 A or 2PM put your hands up or even B2ST Beautiful Tonight or Sistar Shake it or Wanna One Energetic but not an SM mv as there are many actors (like JYP mv's, think.of Twice mv's) & also looks like some idol & actor interaction. Other than a few old school SNSD songs it is uncommon for SM idols to have actors, especially these days and foreigners as well... It feels like watching a JYP mv, not SM's style they've shifted to.

    As with your response to this song I have the same response to your reactions. I like some of it and don't like others. It's great that your honest. So am I. But there is being honest and there is being snarky....and you are heavy on snarky. Don't get me wrong I live for snarky but too much can just be well....bitchy. This song doesn't propose to be anything other than a fun bubble gum summer bop so I feel you were a little to heavy on the criticism. Regardless. I like you a lot so don't get it twisted. your great. Snarky...but great.(Wink)
