We're capping off our day at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park with a visit to the Kilauea Overlook, the steam vents, and the sulphur banks... then we're heading back to Hilo for a sweet treat from Da Hawaiian Brain Freeze Shave Ice, followed by a stop at Boiling Pots and Rainbow Falls, plus a drive around the Liliuokalani Gardens before returning to the ship. Back onboard, it's time to explore Deck 6, snag dinner at the included Cadillac Diner, hit the onboard shops, and more madness!! :P

It's time for our first adventure in Hawaii! We're starting on Oahu with three nights staying at the Doubletree Alana Waikiki Hotel in Honolulu, then boarding Pride Of America from Norwegian Cruise Line for a seven-night cruise around the islands. We were in Honolulu from June 1-4, 2022 and sailed from June 4-11, 2022 out of Honolulu with stops in Kahului (Maui), Hilo (Hawai'i), Kona (Hawai'i), Nawiliwili (Kauai), with a scenic cruise along the Napali Coast... let's do this thing!

Loving every minute of this series!!
Thank you for this video. Your shot of what’s on Deck 6 made me realize my cabin in my upcoming cruise is over the nightclub. The cruise is sold out so not much I can do but at least I now know to bring sleeping pills. Thank you so much!
This trip was so entertaining. Your editing skills shines on this one Jay. Wife and I now want too change our travel plans from Eastern Caribbean too Hawaii. Bravo , 2 thumbs up
Through this journey you have brought back so many memories, that if it wasn’t for the long plane ride, we would jump on a plane right now and go back to the islands. These island are magnificent, so many different things to see and nature beauty at its best! Thank you!
I can't wait to peruse that Library in less than 2 weeks!!!
That is one of the most beautiful lobbies I have seen.
They just seem like a lovely couple to hang out and be friends with.
Oh you make me want to go to Hawaii. How exciting to see live volcano 🌋
‘Last resort wear’ haha, excellent Jay!
These videos are making me want to visit Hawaii. It's never really crossed my mind before! Loving the idea of Turo as well - just starting to see the adverts pop up here in the UK.
The Rainbow Waterfall looked like the waterfall in Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson. Beautiful!!
Wow !!!!!
Of course y'all haven't been aware of those decks!!😆😁 You have been gone, all day, everyday in the ports!!! Lol...and I thank you for all the sites
I love this series so much! Only one complaint…I can’t stop singing “I’m going to the chapel and I’m gonna get married”…Jay, who planted that ear worm?? HAHA
Jay you are too funny “tender coffee” 😂
That burger looked delicious 😋
Did you like that the ship’s capacity was limited due to crew shortages, or would you have preferred a more lively ship experience? Of course, the islands are the star of the show!

I would have preferred the full experience myself, though you’re right about the islands being the star!! :D ~Jay
Awesome
What you were smelling was sulphur dioxide, the campfire smell...just thought you'd be interested...Also when I was there in 2008, that area you are in now was closed off due to dangerous levels of gases. I really want to go back there!
While you were in Hawaii we were on the Encore in Alaska. Planning on Hawaii first week in March on the Pride of America. May rent a car.
That waterfall was just lovely! I very much enjoyed seeing it through your eyes. How refreshing to see an actual chapel on board; so many cruise ships have done away with them. Did you ever figure out how to check out a book from that humongous library??
Nice we are going in 2 weeks! I would love to use Turo, but my husband is skeptical and we are renting with a company. Thanks for all your videos💕🌴🙂
I don't know if you'll get this message but... Have you guys ever thought about renewing your wedding vows on a cruise ship? I think that would be truly magical.
🤣😂 The size of those ices.
When in Hilo, if you check out the murals painted there, I painted 4 of them by myself. It is where I live - well, a mile and a half north of downtown in Wainaku. The ships pass right in front of our house each week. Barges and tugs daily. So interesting. Soooooooo expensive. So what?
Never cruised NCL. Might do the one that goes to South Africa.
Really beautiful pics, Dee. Do you think there had been a storm that might have damaged those cars at the Port?
Full Steam ahead
You guys have been doing a lot of walking in Hawaii. Did you wear anything to count your steps? ☺️

Just the built-in iPhone Health app, but I don't know that we checked it every day, or we forgot to include it in the vlog, ha ha... I guess it would have our historical data in there so we could go back and check!! :P
I’m looking at Turo for Hilo and wondered where you picked your car up. Many charge $120 to deliver to the port.

Across the street from the port. We searched until we found one that didn’t have a delivery fee.

@@parodeejay thx. I’m going to hold off right now. We are to go Sept. 24 but they have now unlinked our 2 cabin reservations because of airfare. They can cancel one cabin and not the other. Got our TA looking at it. NCL has dropped the flight perk now until into 2023. We want neither to be cancelled or both cabins cancelled.
After all of this is done I’m going to have to decide if we stick to our original plan of just staying on Oahu or do the cruise. It actually may have to be two different trips…..but I also know we could hop on a cheap flight to another island for the day…..decisions, decisions!
Does NCL publish daily newsletter schedule "fun times" on this cruise. If you have some can you publish them please?

They do! The "Freestyle Daily". I've got them all at home, so I'll see if I can do something with them when we get back there for a bit, even though I'm sure they might be different since half the venues were closed on our sailing. ~Jay

Ah, we put our gear list in the description of every video for the tech curious. I can never remember the model number, but it's a Canon Powershot point-and-shoot. Super easy!! :D
How can I hure your same Turo car and guide?

I'm not entirely sure that you can search by host, and I'll have to see if I saved a link to the vehicle that we used!! ~Jay
Will you be able to drive up to the summit of mauna kea me and my sisters and girlfriends did when we was on the big island of Hawaii now we are home in waikki Honolulu Hawaii Aloha 💙 😀 ❤️ from McKinley_18 ❤️
Some tips- Do NOT throw coins into the steam vents when you're in Volcanoes NP. Do NOT ignore closed area signs. People get injured or DIE ignoring those signs. This applies to anywhere in Hawaii- Please don't take lava rocks. Pele's Curse if you want to know why, other than it being disrespectful to Native Hawaiian culture. You might see offerings of food or leis - please do NOT disturb these. Boiling Pots / Wailuku River- If you're not local...or even if you are, it's a great place to drown. LOTS of people drown in that river, probably 1 every few years. If you're a visitor it's probably safer to find a beach to swim...although not many choices in Hilo.
Jay - I love you and Dee. You are both just real regular people. Spouse and I were big cruisers before having to jump through covid hoops. We live in South Florida so it was just a short drive to a port. No flying and just park next to the ship. We knew zero about vollgers but stumbled upon people like you and Tony and then every day....not an exaggeration..... we would look forward to your videos. So here is my constructive criticism regarding your Alaska and Hawaii videos. They are too repetitive. I can go to SeaWorld and see more whales than you can on an Alaska tour. Even though we live on the East Coast we have been to Hawaii over 25 times. Your videos there are also repetitive and frankly boring. I understand that you bought the "road tour" app to use with your rental car but how many volcano pictures are we going to look at. Even though you are actually staying on a cruise ship there are magnificent hotels on all the islands that we have been fortunate to stay at. For example when you were in Oahu you could have gone to the Halekulani Hotel on Waikiki Beach and seen an incredible performance of traditional Hawaiian music. Instead you had 3 repetitive videos with a guy with a stick splitting a coconut. I just watched your video while on the Big Island. More repetitive "nature" stuff. You could have gone to the Hilton Waikoloa Village hotel. A magnificent complex and witnessed some authentic live Hawaiian music without having to stay there as a guest of the hotel. We sincerely love both of you and hope that you will consider our comments regarding future videos. Finally. Even though we love both of you, Dee has the most magnificent smile.

I think you are so very fortunate to have been to Hawaii so many times but I expect many of us have not! I don’t think everyone watches the whole series of videos or subscribes so many people just do a search for a particular island or location. In that sitúation they wouldn’t have seen every single segment and it wouldn’t have been a repeat. And I’m guessing many people watch these videos so they can live vicariously through Dee and Jay. I’m watching because I’m trying to decide if we should just stay on one island vs doing this cruise. So many people with so many interests!
