NC500 Scotland Trip Day 7 // BMW R1250 GS Motorcycles // THE FINAL VLOG!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hi All! 🙌🏼
Well, I am sorry to say... this is THE LAST NC500 VLOG!!!
I did vlog the ride down to Manchester but it was solid motorway and just super boring so I thought I'd rather end it on a high with some cool roads, at the place we stayed with some super fond memories.
If you have any recommendations about where we should do our next trip, please let me know in the comments below! :)
Thanks again for watching everyone!

Pinning this comment as I get it alot. I watched the Motojitsu video a couple months back about turning the bars away from you and shifting your hiney over to side to make life easier getting off the side stand. This vlog was filmed in July 2021. I have since tried it and it does work on flat surfaces... not so much on certain slopes, if you haven't got the leg length, you just ain't got it, trust me 😉🤣

I realise this is done from a biking angle but when you know the area like I do it’s frustrating to watch for example the green welly back to the turn to Inveraray probably one of the most boring stretches of road in the area so much i’ll drive another ten miles to miss it at time and seeing this section get five minutes in this clip 😢. The editing is a bit disjointed at times probably because I know the road like the back of my hand so i know exactly where you are and think wait we jumped 30 miles there even a wee “ saying what bridge your crossing or reading the village name” . I know you may not have had the time but missing the rest of the mallaig road from the viaduct is a huge miss. The road really starts to get stunning at that church you did a u turn at after coming out of the car park and turn right then 200 yards turns back. Arisaig and then on to Mallaig via the old coast road is simply stunning looking over the sea to the islands and is more twisty than any road in the area. Big miss…….makes Glencoe look like a aperitif. And I say that with a lot of respect as i’ve never been on a motorcycle apart from private roads or on the back of sports bikes in my younger days, it’s your holiday and you share it best you can and actually out enjoying your dream of riding and that should be commended over anything. It’s probably because we have followed Itch boots so long her editing and the feel of sharing her journey is nothing short of amazing, the camera set up, the explaining her journey and drone shots. I imagine as a biker you follow her as well. I realise that her full time job so she edits every day and people have other jobs and she has absolutely honed how she goes about sharing and editing to a fine art.

It's a long way to Inverary..... But I've been there a few times, and what lovely roads all over the north of Scotland... Alas Mrs Boulder won't ride pillion which means I have to go by myself....which is exactly what I am hoping to do later this year. Enjoyed your vlog of the tour, and looking forward to the next one. I can highly recommend the Pyrenees and what a video series that would make. Closer to home I can hugely recommend Poole Quay on a summer Tuesday evening. Literally thousands of bikes start to arrive from 6:00pm, and the hotter it is, the more that turn up. I bet if you did a ride-out you would have a huge turn out...what a fun trip that would be.....

Good trip, and know many of those roads living here in Scotland. Shame you didn’t ride the road through Glencoe the other way as the views are much better coming down the valley. If your up here again can I suggest the Real Food Cafe over the road from the Green Welly, ok it doesn’t have bike parking like the GW but in our view the food is cheaper and better, we’re trying to encourage our fellow bikers to go there, maybe one day they’ll be able to justify bike parking as well 👍🏻

This has been a great series with yourself and Mike showing us the brilliant scenery of Scotland . I noticed the word Dynamic on your dash, Kate...in my case it only stays there for a fleeting moment on its way to Rain mode ,where it stays most of the time on my GS ,even on hot 30 degree days , lol

The Glenfinnan Viaduct, constructed by Sir Robert McAlpine in 1897. It has 21 arches and reaches a height of 30mtrs above the valley. The Harry Potter Express or Hogwarts Express is the Jacobite Steam Train run by West Coast Railways. Trips on it run from April to October only from Fort William to Mallaig and back daily, seven days per week. The morning service runs from Monday 3rd April to Friday 27th October and the afternoon service runs from Monday May 1st to Friday 29th September. The train crosses the Viaduct 30-40 minutes after the train departs Fort William so plan to be at the Viaduct viewpoint at around 10.45/11.00am daily. The afternoon train crosses over at around 1.20/1.40pm daily. Hope this helps anyone planning future trips.

@@UsernameKate My pleasure Kate, just finished watching all the videos from your trip. We did that run from Edinburgh , on the A9 past Stirling, called in at the Kelpies at Falkirk, through Doune and past Doune Castle (Winterfell in Game of Thrones) on up to Fort William, had lunch at the Ben Nevis Visitor Centre then went past a shrouded Ben Nevis, stopped off at Commando Pass and the memorial then on to Glencoe and the Three Sisters Mountains, where we stopped again, up to Fort Augustus and Loch Ness where we had an hour's boat tour on the loch and went over to Urquhart Castle then continued north with more awesome views all the way up to Inverness. We then came back via the Cairngorm's National Park, down through Perth, stopped around early evening for ice cream at Pitlochry and came back across the original Forth Road Bridge (open only for buses, taxis and motorcycles, no cars or trucks ) back into Edinburgh, roughly 360 miles in just around 12 hours including pit stops, viewpoint stops and lunch and tea.

Like all your videos, but would like to give you a tip regarding the Scottish ch sound, as in loch, as I notice you pronounce it lock, which is very common with people from England. It's very simple. When you make the k sound you touch the back of your tongue to roof of your mouth. When you make the Scottish ch sound, leave a little gap and breathe out. A little practice and you'll be speaking like a native. Loch Ness, Loch Fyne, Loch Lomond, Loch Awe. Loçh Tay. If you can't get it, you can at least drive your man nuts practicing 😃

I watched all of your tours today in this series, from 1 through to this final vlog, you did everything right, from showing your food, (important) to the accommodation you stayed at. This isn't a criticism, but I felt that, if you'd of taken the whole tour about 20mph slower, you'd of enjoyed the views so much more, I also think you did stuff wrong and felt panicked because you felt you was being rushed,(ie forgot to turn your gopro on) which is what I felt you was being in this(rushed)....overall, and I'm no critic, nor am I being critical, just my thoughts, it was over a year ago and hopefully you might think I'm right, all in all, a great series to watch and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Have a very happy new year for 2023 🍺🥂🤗

Didn't feel rushed at all. Our priorities are the roads because the riding is the funnest bit for us, the highlight. I know you aren't trying to criticize, but I do find it odd how people tell me how I would have enjoyed my own holiday more 😅 it was exactly as I hoped it would have been. Hope you had a good Christmas, and here is to an even better new year 🍻

It always Annoys me when Cyclists block the Main Roads. Can’t they just Ride around on some Side Road somewhere? They don’t seem to care if they hold up Traffic for Miles, with no Courtesy to let the Traffic by every once in a while!!!! Anyway, I really enjoyed following the Videos of this Trip. What a Beautiful Place to Ride. 👍😁❤️

Cyclists at the beginning. I have no problem with normal Cyclists. But what I do have is a problem with is the so called professional/club riders who want to ride in packs and seem to enjoy holding other road users up. Lat year I was doing 20mph in a 20mph zone and had a so called professional cyclist having a go at me for going to slow. As I say about motorcyclists of which I'm one. If you want to race use a track not the public highway 😉
