NC State's run through this installment of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament has been nothing short of miraculous considering they hadn't given us but little indication they were capable of it at any point during the regular season!!!!! For the first time in the tournament though, they had a game that was gift wrapped to them! The wins over Louisville, Syracuse and Duke we're earned (NC State outplayed all three)! This one was a Virginia meltdown at the FT line! No offense, but State will need to take the time and send the Cavaliers a thank you card! Missed 4 of their last 5 at the stripe during the final minute and change to over courteous leave the door ajar! I am so hoping State can beat the Tar Holes, but this was 100% a Virginia choke job

What an insane game!

As a UNC fan with season tickets to NC State (football not bball) im extremely torn. UNC trying to lock in the last #1 seed but NC State needs the win to get to the tournament. I’m a die hard Carolina fan and I would be OK if we lost. I would love to see State win and get the automatic bid - that’s worth a 2 seed if it knocks us out of the 1 slot. Edit: a loss to us (UNC) against a hot State team wouldn’t matter too much but the win to State would be legendary.

that's not how die-hards talk. If UNC gets a 2 seed, we're likely to line up on the same side of the bracket with UCONN, which would mean (possibly) facing them in the elite 8 in Boston. There are still stakes for Carolina. Go Heels.

UNC locks in the last #1 spot AND NC State gets in at #11 for winning the tourney. Bois, that is what we call a WIN WIN. So happy for state but if we see them in the tournament I will have no love for them whatsoever

Worst free-throw shooting Virginia team I've ever seen.Just gave the game away.They knew it,too.Couldn't buy a basket in OT.

How huge was that flagrant 1 foul called on DJ Burns that put over-animated Reece Beekman on the line all by himself to miss both free throws? The stars had to align for this win to happen for the Pack. The odds were against them, but they defied all logic and beat the odds anyway. I sure hated to see the Hoos stink it up last night for the conference in the national spotlight. I felt Pitt or Wake could have done a better job.

Who would've thought that surviving this game would've allowed NC State to make the tournament and now be in the Final 4? At least my Hoos helped someone do well this March...

The problem with trying to foul in that situation is that the guy with the ball can throw his hands up like he was taking a shot. Now he goes to the line for free throws. Sure after he makes the shot it's easy to question but the chances of him making it were pretty low. He's not a good shooter to begin with and State had struggled all day from 3.
