NC Miata camshaft install in-car - Ford Duratec
It's been over 3 years since I published the video showing how to disassemble and convert the Duratec 2.5L for use in the NC Miata. We mainly install cams on the motors before installing them but I finally had a customer come in that wanted cams and valve springs installed while the motor was already in the car. Here's the walk-through how-to video!
This video has been edited to expedite certain procedures, remove certain unnecessary segments, and remove audio as appropriate.

Subscribed! Great video. I came across this researching replacing the valve seals on my supercharged 2.0.
Thank you for making this - it has made it clear to me that I do NOT want to attempt this myself (*and* maybe I should wait for my 2.0 to blow up and have this done on a replacement 2.5)

Does the VVT sprocket need to be 'timed'? Is there a specific position to attach it to the camshaft. I don't think so, but can you give me a specific answer, please.

These gears aren’t timed to the cams. They are locked down after the chain is in tension and that locks them into timing. Maybe watch the other video of assembling the motor out of car and it’ll help your understanding. I have more explanations in those videos.
