As someone who is not from the US, do you know how frightening it is to hear how multiple people at that table lost a loved one to gun violence? To hear the real fear and sadness in Malika's voice for her mother, because teaching is now considered a dangerous profession? To hear that Perk's kids are being homeschooled out of his fear for their safety? How many other viewers are watching and share the same fears? Who are angry, and mourning, and tired? It is truly heartbreaking, and eye-opening for anyone tuning into American news these days, to be made uncomfortably aware of how bad things really are in the US. But as Malika pointed out, inaction isn't the answer, and you can channel that frustration and sadness into something positive. You can have your say and should use your voice to demand that they take action for positive change and public safety. Take it from somebody who does not live in America - you do not need to live like this, tragedy to tragedy, burying children, and always needing to look over your shoulder in public. You do not have to accept what your legislators decide.

This is terrible a truly awful situation horrible tragic my ❤️ goes out to all the victims families but here's the awful part nothing will change. It seems to me there's needs to a nationwide movement similar in numbers and as loud as 2020 this stuff can't be and shouldn't be forgotten like Ted Cruz Greg Abbott would like. Now I am lucky as an Irishman I never had worry about such things growing up in my country but no parent or child ever should.

I've been fighting tears for last couple of days, but Big Perk got my eyes watering for the last 10 minutes again with the insight about how destroyed the parent of a child that either insisted/made their child go to school that faithful day. Or the parent that denied that child a simple pleasure like a favorite food snack or toy not knowing it was that child's last day on earth. My daughter is not school age yet but my eyes are watering again because who can't sympathize or empathize with that! ...And not to mention I type this at my desk where I've been teaching High School English for well over a decade now.

I'm from Australia any my opinion no one should have guns unless they're in the military police or security all like we have over here for farmers gun should not be readily available to whoever wants one. I think America need to implement new laws that unless you can obtain a gun licence have extended background checks and make it so much harder to access a gun you guys are going to continually have this problem in Australia we had a mass shooting Port Arthur massacre and with that our prime minister at the time John Howard had what we called a buy back scheme where you could take your gun in not give your name and hand your guns over as the banning of guns in Australia due to the mass shooting since Port Arthur and since the buyback scheme for the guns we have not had another mass shooting so I definitely think if we can do it in Australia I can't see such an amazing place has America can do the same peace to all love and condolences to the families that have lost so much to this terrible tragedy rest in peace

The Problem is we need to teach our children, to stop being bullies in school, then our children wouldn't have to go and get a weapon to kill innocent victims in school shootings or to even have school shootings for that matter because some kids who are bullies don't know how to keep their mouth shut and I blame the parents of those bullies for allowing their kids to bully others around. And I also blame law enforcement for allowing drugs and weapons to be in our community and I blame our federal government for not doing anything to take weapons out of our community and stop weapons from getting into the hands of our children.

You can't buy cigarettes or alchohal until you're 21, or menthol cigarettes at all, but you can get a gun at 18, and there are the private sale loopholes that allow transfer of weapons without a BG check. Then you can go wipe people off the face of the earth without even getting your hands dirty (like you'd have to do with a knife or othersuch). This is ludicrous. Just really depressing stuff.

Not to mention, in order to get in my daughter's school, you have to show ID and then they ask why you're there and then you get buzzed in. And I live in a small podunk town in NY. Public school. I called yesterday and said "ty for locking your doors".

I'm not an American but it's obvious, for anyone with eyes and a working brain, that nothing will change, because you have politicians that are in it for the power and the money, and politicians that are backed by the gun lobbies, etc. etc. and who will not do the decent, appropriate, moral thing. In New Zealand, in 2019, we suffered the worst terrorist attack in our small and young country, in a mosque and separate Islamic centre, where 50 people were murdered. And you know what our politicians did? They changed the gun laws, basically immediately! And every politician, across the different parties, agreed to it. Every party, because personal power and money goes out the window, when his sort of thing happens, and the politicians knew, categorically, that if they did not, there would've been an uprising within the communities of NZ. So many people around the world do not understand why you let your politicians do this, and why they're not truly held accountable. Government of the people, by the people, for the people? No. There's sadly no end in sight, because you have politicians that are in it purely for themselves...
