This was part of a 3 day stretch of outstanding playoff basketball in May 1992 This thriller was sandwiched between: 1. A classic Bulls/Knicks battle at MSG on Saturday afternoon 2. Blazers/Suns 2OT, the highest scoring playoff game ever on Monday night

I never hear anyone talk about this series. Mark Price was so money with his jumper during this period. The playoffs were really exicting at that time. 1992 was a great time to be an NBA fan!

The 1992 playoffs were great. There were so many wonderful memories and moments all throughout the entire playoffs. I grew up a Bulls fan in Chicago, but Magic and Bird were always fun to watch, and the Celtics or Lakers were really must see t.v. back then. Old school basketball is so much more enjoyable to watch, to me anyway. R.I.P. Reggie Lewis, he was a great player and seemed like he was about to become a real big superstar. If he or Len Bias had not passed away so tragically and unexpectedly, I think Boston would have been real contenders in the 1990s. What a shame...

Love toughness. Yet old-school toughness only benefitted Lakers, Celtics, and cash cow teams. This is why I like the Detroit Piston. They exposed the double standard of the NBA. Plus they will more often than not send their starters to do the dirty work. Unlike Celtics of this era who tend to send the bench before their starters. I apologize with all due respect. Ralph Sampson and Hakeem will beat any "What if" guards or forwards. Sorry. I've seen that era and still watch the game today. You're not a real basketball fan if that is what you think or believe. Ya'll are the same NBA fans who said the ABA wasn't basketball.

If Reggie Lewis and Len Bias stayed alive, they could've lead the Celtics deep in the playoffs throughout the 90s like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are doing now (not sure about rings since Jordan was still around)

I'd argue that Boston versus Cleveland in today's era in the second round of the playoffs would put us to sleep, just 3's and unnecessary fouls etc

Mark Price had just about the softest shooting touch you will ever see. What a underrated great player he was. Should be in the HOF.

NBA tv is a joke.

Reggie Lewis was a pure hooper. This was the best playoff series he ever had. By the time of his tragic passing, I don't even think he had reached his peak yet...Also, prime, healthy Mark Price is one of the most underrated PG's in NBA history. To me he was a better offensive scoring version of John Stockton while still being nearly as good a passer and facilitator.

Price seemed more athletic, better 3, better mid-range shot, better free throw, and would have averaged a couple more assists per game if he had Malone. His high was 10 per game at his best. Stockton averaged over 10.5 10 years in a row! lol Crazy. I would also say Stockton was tougher and more durable as well.

@@joebauers3746 Good points! Stockton was definitely the all around better and 2-way PG and availability was far more than Price. But watching quite a bit of Price in his prime, that guy was pretty outstanding. And his game was actually well ahead of it's time. He would have killed it in later eras.

Would love to have watch Bullls vs. Celtics in 1992 ECF instead of Cavs

This was an evenly matched 7 game series that got overshadowed by the Chicago/New York series at the same exact time.

Great game and that opening. Thank you John Tesh. Also, is that Chuck Dailey doing the commentary? If so, excellent, saw this when it aired, just can’t remember

Losing this game cost the Celts the series. Had they pulled it out, they would have been up, 3-1. No way they would have blown that.
