To be honest, in recent years, people have started making football PURELY about stats, but there are so many qualities that can’t be quantified that make for a great player

That game against Brazil is legendary he literally did anything he wanted against a stacked Brazilian squad.

He's in my top 5 for sure. Definitely one of the most elegant ever. That video makes it seem like he didn't reach his potential, but he absolutely did. A couple of crazy moments, but he wasn't some kind of Sergio Ramos or Suarez. And I dunno, i've always found that world cup one kinda funny, and it's not exactly like he lost them the game

@@ceronibalsamar5352 I would never disrespect Zizou. And no Bergkamp didn't just have "great technique" that's quite the understatement. He had some of the greatest technique of all time, I've never seen a player with a first touch like him and I used to watch Serie A very actively in the late 90's/early 2000's so I've watched plenty of Zidane games. I've never seen a player catch 40+ meter passes mid-air like Bergkamp did and I've never seen a player chip goalkeepers from outside the box as regularly as Bergkamp did. Ofcourse Zidane was the better player overall but when it comes to first touch and ball control Bergkamp is second to none.

In a finale with club or country he is who you want on the pitch even more than Ronaldo and Messi. Even though he’s usually not a goal scorer, in big tournaments and finals he puts the team in his back and scores. That’s why he’s arguably the best player ever IMO

While many top dribblers almost always introduce pace and explosive maneuvers into their dribbles to pass the opponent, Zidane didn't. That speaks quality about his dribbling capability. And that's what I love from him the most.

Zidane is technically one of the best footballers ever and on his day absolutely brilliant but people who watched him throughout his career will know he was extremely inconsistent and had a ton of games where he would just not show up. Great player but people defo overrate him when talking all time greatest players.

It’s sad that midfielder are almost always in the shadow of the strikers i get that it’s about scoring goals but the best teams needs a player that can make some Moves and create lanes to run in besides it’s for the most of times the midfielder control that acctually vin the game Ballon d,or are rigged Ronaldo shouldt have won the title at age 19 and they base it on a season but if it is a euro cup or world cup it’s almost always the winner of that regardles of the league results

I don’t understand what Raymar is on about. Henry and Ribery were off before Zidane got red carded and Ribery was 23 and it’s not like they got replaced by me and you. It was Wiltord and Trezeguet who were great players. So without hindsight of the red card and Trezeguet’s missed pen you can’t really say it was a terrible decision.

I tend to think of him as one of the greats, but maybe a little overrated, especially if we are talking about him being top 5 all-time (I wouldn't have him top ten, though I'm no historian). Just too inconsistent and temperamental to be among the very, very best, though he was certainly one of the very most entertaining, and being a big game player is preferable to being more of a flat-track bully who racks up great stats but comes up small when it really matters most. So I do rate him highly, just think top 5, top 10 is too much. Luis Figo I reckon is worth finding out about - third greatest Portuguese player ever (CR7 and Eusebio), likely CR's childhood idol and so hated in Barcelona that that they would throw golf balls, lighters and even a pig's head at him during El Classico games he played in. If there is a video like this about him it could be worth a reaction.
