I'm actually suprised this record doesn't get talked about when people mention the "most unbreakable NBA records". This one has to be up there for sure In order to even have a shot at the most career playoff points record, you need to have all these 4 factors in your favor: 1. Talent (Lebron is a top 3-5 player of all time talent) 2. Longevity (Lebron has spent almost 20 seasons in the league, and he's been in top 5-10 player conversations in each of those years) 3. Durability (Lebron has never missed a single playoff game in his career when his team makes the playoffs) 4. The right supporting cast around you that allows you to make deep postseason runs for at least an entire decade and a half (Lebron was able to make 8 straight Finals in large part due to the insane supporting cast around him) What's more, Lebron has missed the 2nd round of the playoffs only 4 times in his career: 2004, 2005, 2019 (missed playoffs) and 2021 (lost in 1st round)

Also, a lot injuries, 2 seasons with less than 20 games, and others factors just turns out he had a way shorter career than he could have. And, he is consistent. Even after 2 years retired, his Playoffs stats just got bigger and bigger! So, I think MJ's career is too short considering how great he was.

It's funny to see how the conversation about LeBron's greatness always drifts into the "longevity" direction. People and Journalists are constantly holding it against him as if he cheated or needs to apologize for being in such a decent shape for his whole career. Athletes of all kinds of sports are genetically and talentwise superior to 99% of human population. Should Michael Phelps records be diminished because his body is perfect for swimming? Should Serena Williams success be downplayed because she was more athletic than all her peers? And what about Shaq and Kareem? It's utterly ridiculous if you think about that a guy like LeBron with his work ethic, his discipline and sacrifices he made to always be mentally and physically at a top level is constantly attacked just because he is a role model of how to conduct the sport of basketball. If Lebron would have been drafted by Chicago back in the eighties he would have won at least seven titles during the nineties because he would not have taken a year off like Jordan. On the other hand, would Jordan be able to stay in Cleveland his whole career and wind six titles? So please stop comparing different generations of players who played under different rules and with different ways the game was coached.

@@dylandixon4058 Jordan has a different personality than Lebron or any other current or former NBA superstar. He might have dominated as a scorer in every era but even Jordan couldn't overcome good teams in the playoffs with a mediocre Bulls team. He couldn't even make it to the Finals because he got bounced in the first or second round by the Celtics or Pistons. Only when the Pistons and Celtics got old and Isiah's and Bird's careers practically done due to injury, only then Jordan could finally reach the Finals to play and old and washed out lakers team, a mediocre Portland team who nobody even talks as a Bulls finals opponent and then an injury riddled Phoenix team with one superstar in Charles Barkley. Was any of those teams loaded with stars like the Warriors with KD, Steph, Klay, Iggy and Draymond? Or KD, Russ and Harden? The two hardest finals for Jordan were against the Jazz with Karl Malone and John Stockton, two all-time greats. On the other hand, you can say Lebron lost to the Dallas Mavericks with an old Dirk Nowitzi and Jason Kidd. I personally believe that Jordan would not lose such a duel against a weaker opponent. All I want to say is, even as a once in a generation talent you are still dependent on the management drafting the right guys and making trades that are going to improve the team. And then of course the right coach. I think the Bulls front office and Phil Jackson as a coach were years ahead of what Lebron had to work with in Cleveland for the first 7 years.

Steph Curry scored as of 2022 only 3,197 FT of his 20,064 points, that's about 16% vs West 7,160 FT of 25,192 Points, almost 29%. West played in an inferior era with less talent than today. My point is, West would have scored fewer FT (as a three-point shooter) and maybe more threes (at a lower percentage than two's). It's a trade-off. At the end, not more impressive than any of the all-time greats such as Wilt, Shaq, Tim, Kareem etc

If they were great at shooting 3's they would likely have had fewer free-throws, therefore it's illogical to me for someone to say that they are most impressed just because West scored 25K points when he did it with an easier shot.
