NBA Analyst Wants Knicks To Make MAJOR CHANGE To Starting Lineup... | Knicks News

Спорт

The Knicks are seen as one of the best teams in the entire NBA after making notable upgrades and retaining their core of Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, & OG Anunoby. However, after losing Isaiah Hartenstein, questions have begun to come up about the availability of Mitchell Robinson over an 82 game season. Many NBA Insiders and Analysts have weighed in on this situation for NY, including former NBA player Gilbert Arenas. Arenas believes NY has the answer at center already on their roster and he's not speaking about Mitchell Robinson... Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

Gil DID NOT SAY THAT! He said that the "FIVE" who would "FINISH THE GAME" would be Brunson at the "1", Hart/DiVincenzo at the "2" (if they are ahead, Hart will be on the court, if they are behind, DiVincenzo will be on the court), Mykel at the "3", OG at the "4" and Randle at the "5". I sent a message earlier this week after Harkenstein left (and, I wish him luck, the Knicks could not offer more than four years/72 mil and OKC offered him much more and both teams are contenders so) and I said that "Randle can be the backup "5" if they stagger his minutes during the game. He can play at least 12 minutes at the backup center. Robinson and Sims (or, someone else) can play at least 36 minutes combined or less if the Knicks go small ball for a few minutes. Coach Tibbs, I know that he has his ways but this is the NBA now, position-less basketball. But, I know that the "RETURN OF THE BIGS" are happening so...

My opinion is to go as big as possible. Randle should stay away from the center. Keep him a PF so he is big and strong at that position. Bring in a big center for that. Put Bridges as an SG, O.G. as an SF. Brunson the PG. Off the bench, another solid C, a true PF, Hart SF, Don SG, and whichever PG's show out. Stop going small and get bigger!!!!!

Bring in a big center you say... Think like a GM! How would you like the Knicks to do that? With what trade assets? The salary cap is exhausted. Mitchell Robinson is the Knicks center. Robinson is a very good defensive center when healthy. No better center is available to the Knicks under the current circumstances unless they give up a valuable player in return.

Can’t play Randle at the 5 every night. This would only take place in certain situations with close games or weak center. Knicks will not put him through the grind every night and risk injuries plus takes a toll on body. Want him fresh for playoffs and season. The 5 spot should be handle by bigs 6’11 to 7’0+ who have size to protect rim and rebound plus score. Trust in Thibs to handle the personnel on this roster and how it plays out. He will let us know in his press conferences. Areanas is a good player but has never coach on any level (college or pros) previously. Unless he’s willing to go to Knicks as an assistant coach he can put his 2 cents in. For now no head coach or asst coach experience roster suggestions will not work out unless he or anyone actually sees the players first hand in the flesh what they are capable of

U can do that, in small stints, if you wanna go offense heavy, like what the old warriors would do. But the problem is randle is sure to end up in foul trouble, hes gotta guard embiid, porzingus? I agree with an occasional, based on match ups line up of Randle @ 5. But then again, i also see (again based on opponent), an up and down tempo line up of OG at the 5, Hart at the 4 (Thibbs already has proven he loves Hart at the 4), Bridges at the 3, Dante at the 2, and maybe McBride at the 1. Push the tempo in a turbo lineup.

Randle is tough always been, but not sure that's an optimal move putting him in the 5 spot. Could he play it if you force him there sure, but that's not his natural position. He's a bucket and a bully and he needs to stay in his element.

Agree 100% Hart should start at the 4! Between Randle and Hart they will out rebound opposing teams while the Knicks play hellish defense! Preserve Robinson on the bench 20 minutes per game. Also OG and Bridges defense will prevent opposing teams from driving to the rim. Also Randle should play more of a role that Hartenstein played passing away from the paint! Freeing up the paint for Brunson and Bridges to drive!
