The rebounding has long been a issue. The ball takes a unnatural bounce and like a heat seeking missile to the player with better rebounding stats. Probably even more noticeable in my player online

People who actually follow the nba and play actual basketball are more than satisfied with this. We dont play mycareer so we arent really affected by microtransactions. The improved gameplay, jordan mode, and new era mode are more than enough reasons to buy this game. Not to mention, updated face scans, more animations, updated player skillsets and playstyle.

IGN finally earns my respect. They could've give this game a 4/10

Should be a 4. This is the best 2k in years because of the updated animations and quality of life improvements but the focus on micro transactions ruins the product. You would have to play everyday for months to reach a point where your character can actually play basketball so it corners people into buying the digital currency.

Anybody that reviews 2K in broadcast shouldn’t be listened to

Quite funny that this got a six outta ten for how much it still heavily relies on microwaving, yet MADDEN 23’s a score higher despite it being guilty of doing the same stuff NBA 2K23 is being criticized of here, if not more so in some parts! Though both still should’ve been given a four or five, this really shows how much more suspicious IGN has been when it comes to these scores when they haven’t had an issue giving the Switch versions of FIFA the scores they rightfully deserved.

Thank you for this review. I’ve been saying this about the game for years. It’s no fun unless you’re willing to put extra money into it to upgrade your player / have multiple players

On top of all of this, they implement a tier badge system meaning you get all the best badges last. So not only do the people who have put more time and money in have more badges, they have way better ones as well. If the next 2k is genuinely like this, this will be my last 2k.

Jordan did great as a Wizard. Was a top 5 player, great defensive stats and boosted the Wizards to the number one defensive team before the injury. And did all that with recent broken ribs and a right index finger he can no longer use.

Yeah, just gonna grab it next year in May with 5 bucks. It's a solid 5 dollar single player game if you don't enjoy the gambling side of it

In my opinion the worst problem is the difficulty’s, for example on all-star difficulty you can completely fill the shot metre but if there is even 5% contest you can’t make the shot, it’s not even a luck thing because it has happened so many times

This is one of the best 2ks in a long time. U keep giving madden love tho. Yet this, a sports game that is actually improved gets no love and gets a critical review. Do the same with MADDEN. Give it a 3, what it deserves. But nope, y’all just love showing madden love

Proud of IGN here. I'm a 2K diehard, have been since NBA 2K on the Dreamcast, but enough is enough. This franchise has become stagnant and each year is a repeat of the last. VC is out of control, and it just creates a toxic environment. Do better, 2K.

Unless you are only interested in my career this game is way better than 6/10. I'd be willing to bet 90% of the people hating in the comment sections are only my career players who are understandably upset with all the money they have to spend to have fun on that mode. Or it's just people who don't buy the game and are here to hate on 2K. yearly. Otherwise, the gameplay has never looked and felt smoother and it overall just looks amazing, KZread on your phone doesn't do it justice. Plus the different era mode options are really cool if you like NBA history and the Jordan challenge as well. Would like to see a LeBron, Kobe ,Steph and all the greats have a challenge mode in the future.

NBA 2k should take notes from the NHL series. Where you feel like a millionaire that the NBA players are (being able to buy houses and cars, personal trainers , companies). They could tie it into either earning extra VC or extra repuatation. Is the WNBA mode an actual career story? Do we get to play as Charles Barkley or Reggie Miller?

Somehow one of the best 2K in years in terms of gameplay, skill gap and features scores lower then Madden lol

The fact they added historic franchise mode and all draft classes plus the Jordan challenges is enough for me. Want to replay your team during the Magic/Bird, Jordan, or Kobe eras, go do it and every year you can get the real draft class for that year ...

A lot of people online just back you down to get as close to the basket as possible just so they can easily trigger a dunk animation that can't be stopped. It is cheesy!

The grind in this game is becoming more tedious. 75 overall should be the minimum starting point for a build.

Started playing 2 days ago an already the game froze on me 4x in my league

Been playing this game since like 2k11... time to give it up for a few years

Is anyone experiencing small stutters or fps drops in virtually all nba arenas as the camera pans across the court???

2k refuses to "port" the newer, upgraded, current gen version to PC, and it can't be for any reason other than not wanting to. They're just trying to get a bag every year. At least EA doesn't even try to give me hope, they stopped pretending to like us years ago.

Madden as a same problem when you did the video on that we didn't say that you said it's a stuck in the word correction

NBA 2K13 = 9.1 Amazing. NBA 2K14 = 9.3 Amazing. NBA 2K16 = 9.0 Amazing. NBA 2K17 = 8.9 Great.

For any sim players out there this game is a 10/10. If you grew up in the 80s 90s or 2000s watching NBA the new "ERAS" game mode is amazing

The badge grind and level up process is not fun. They need to reward players who play the game each year. Give them VC to make their character an 80 overall plus let us keep our previous years cosmetics.

It's 15$ at ps store now...but IDC about story mode. Just wanted some gameplay review.
