"Casual/free" Players basically because (and this is my opinion of course) if you are someone whom isn't gonna drop extra on the game after you buy it then you are suffering badly! I'm NOT saying they should make it "too easy" because I understand they need to make money but for people like me even though I am "somewhat" a grinder in MyCareer I don't want to be banging my head against the wall just to progress my character. Yes I know why they do it but at some point quite literally the only people that will play this game are the people that make content for it and then what? The way the player shoots feels more realistic than ever. But these micro transactions is really making the game seem like a scam. I realized this was a HUGE problem when l wanted to see how much it would cost me to max out my mid range shot on 2k22 vs 2k23. On 22, it would cost around 19k VC to upgrade my middy from 53 to 80. You wanna now how much it would cost to upgrade my middy from just 70 to 80 on 2k23? 39k VC 😳 That's right, It would cost DOUBLE the amount of VC to upgrade my middy nearly a 3rd LESS when compared to 2k22. What a joke...

Few yrs back the game started with the microtransactions and p2w. Quite a few of us spoke up loudly against it on social media and the game's forum boards. We repeatedly said this would get worse. I've quit the game recently because it's gone full on p2w and the microtransactions are everywhere in the game, there are so many. And all the good players quit the game too. These were hardcore MMO grind players who had been there for yrs and 99% of them have quit. These gaming studios listen to 1 language only and that's $$$. As long as idiots keep having over thousands of dollars the studios will add more and more p2w/microtransactions.

2. I love playing the MyCareer for the storyline/RPG element of the game. I wish 2K would just make MyCareer completely separate from Park. Offline vs Online because Online players don’t even care about the story anyways. Then each side could get the appropriate attention needed to create the best product.

2k won't say anything. They'll say it's your money your choice but what they'll never admit is that the fairness between somebody paying over $100 getting to 95+ in the first week of the game compared to someone grinding my career for 3-4 months and still isn't 90-95 without spending a dime is just not right.

2! I love playing thru the MyCareer. This year has been really well done besides the lame side quests. Other than that I focus on REC mainly. More peeps need to talk about the VC problem. As a community together we can bring change.

The biggest problem for me is how little VC you can actually earn ingame. The storyline don’t give enough adjusted to the new prices. They removed the endorsement Boni that you can earn in nba games (20points double double 50vc, etc) They removed the random VC checks that you earned in the city by going to your agency. The rewards for main and especially side quest are almost never VC. Who cares if I get 60k new fans if that don’t translate to me earning VC? Those my points doesn’t mean anything too. You grind like 800k my points and get like 3.5k VC for beeing MVP of the city? What the f**k is this ?!?!?

As someone who always starts 2k but switches off pretty fast every year (due to everyone being 90+ in park and you cant find a game if you arent willing to p2w). I don't think the grind is an issue, the issue for me is, that everybody else seems to be willing to just spend their way to the top, there should be a cap at 80 OVR or something and the rest can be won throught grinding park or the career, i have no issue being a 70 player, if everybody was a 70 player. Other than that, VC prices are insane for this game, but as i am not willing to pay anyway, i don't care.

Man I used to be a my career fanatic having multiple full careers. That’s a very long time, 2k not only messed up the simulation feel to my career but also feels like a hassle now especially with the addition of VC. Nowadays my career is just an annoyance before I get to actually enjoy the game. I use my league and player lock for careers and that hasn’t been too bad but I miss the actual my career experience. I’m afraid 2k is going down the wrong path bruh, it’s a similar feel with madden but the difference is the gameplay actually holds up for it.

2, I’m a player who plays MyCareer story and I can say from first hand experience that this year’s 2K does not give nearly the amount of VC in the stories as the last few 2Ks. THANK YOU! I have been looking for more information about this topic and no one has been talking about it on KZread. I recently just came back to playing 2K after a long hiatus from the game. I really enjoy the gameplay so far. I made my first build having no clue what I was doing. I grinded to a 90 to get to rebirth and was so confused about having to buy back all my attributes again. They definitely need to address this or make earning more VC obtainable. Keep up the great worked just subbed.

2 - I play the storyline on HOF and I enjoy it for the most part…I mix it up between the storyline, park, and the rec. I got the MJ version so I got a free 100,00 VC and an extra 5,000 VC for pre-ordering through GameStop. I spent another $50 (200,000 VC) on VC which gave me 305,000 VC plus the VC I’ve earned from playing through the story mode (NBA + Endorsements) I was able to level up to a 90 and I still have about 11, 000 VC currently. The only extras I purchased are the Wildcat Shorts, Royal Jordan 1’s, and 4 Tattoos. I also won about 4,500 VC from the daily reward. I know I’ll have to spend at least another $50-$70 (275,000 VC) to get to 99 and it’s disappointing to see that there is no real logical way to reach level 99 without spending over at least $220

Oh I understand and totally agree I also spent an additional $175 on VC now I only got the regular version but still when you factor in boost and Gatorade is so hard and makes you decide on whether to play regular my career games or park because you literally get no VC for Park and I think that’s where the fun factor is taken out of the game when you have to decide on where to play with your friends because you don’t have enough VC

Crazy that this was the same game that gained its initial popularity for being a $20 game.

Did a vid similarly on this not to promo plat just to bring things like this to the communities attention. 400k plus translates to roughly a 100 dollars it's smoke and mirrors. The grind time for bagdes has doubled and even tripled depending on build types. The game needs to be cross-platform and free to download play been saying this since before 2k20 dropped.

So glad you made this! But unfortunately They’re not going to care AT ALL you know why? Bc we’re SUCKERS and continue to buy the damn game, buy this version and that version, buy tons of VC bc if not we can’t get anywhere in the game. I did it on all star 5 min qtrs but U can do it on higher difficulty or longer qtrs whichever works best for you

This is ridiculous and more people need to speak out about this, it used to cost 68K to max out in 2K14 and there were way more categories to upgrade, they got so greedy that they don’t even give us free custom sneakers after earning an endorsement deal in MyCareer. I don’t mind the grind nor do I mind playing MyCareer, I usually play every mode in 2K but it’s hard to even earn that 160K VC without spending money initially on your build, nobody wants to play as a 60 overall, literally impossible to enjoy it. They could make things much more enjoyable if they inflate prices if everything. You can barely buy sneakers and clothes in the game and it’s been this way more a while and nobody ever speaks up, the whole community should be outraged! They give out 200 VC like anything in the game costs that. We should be getting 10-15k VC per game, that would at least make it fair.

10k vc per game is insane bro , u play half of the season u a max build it should be like 2k vc per game (200 games to max out including animations and clothes) , plus the endorsments and the story line u should be aight and looking at about 150 games it would still take a lot of grind but it would be ok, finish one regular season u have a good overall then u slowly grind to the max this is insane right now

There’s also that one quest early on in the my career where you have to end the game with a B+ which can be hard if you’re at a low overall (I play on HOF)

Glad this is being pointed out ! We finally get a good game and they are trying their best to rape or pockets! You got to be insane if your making multiple builds

Also, we need to talk about the fact that clothes, animations and badges in 2k16(when I first played park) where so much cheaper, you could get a whole fit for less than 10k, including shoes. Now if you want to have shorts that don’t touch your ankles you need to spend at least 15k! All the branded clothes are cool but I don’t wanna have to spend 25k on some ovo hoodie. They’ve rapidly increased prices in the game over the past 3-4 years and haven’t even slightly decreased the price of vc. Even if they still charged €50 for vc but make it the 450k pack instead of the 200k. It’s beyond ridiculous that in order to play a game that I’ve played and loved for 7 years I have to scandalous amounts of money into it after already paying a ridiculous price for the game itself

And they’ve given us 100k with the preorder since 2k18 but every year since it’s cost more vc to upgrade so why don’t they give us more money with the pre order

There is 3 things I have a problem with this year. I’m on ps4 so these problems might be different if you’re on current gen (or some still say next gen) 1. Steals. They should be nerfed or Unpluckable should be buffed. A guard or big with a 50 steal rating shouldn’t be able to walk up to a guard with gold or HOF unpluckable and steal the ball so easily. 2. Same as the video, it shouldn’t cost an arm, leg, and a miracle to upgrade a build. It literally costs around 250k-300k to make a rebirth build (depends on the build and how you upgrade it). 3. Jumpshot timing should be consistent across the board. It shouldn’t be different from rec, park, or pro am. This was an issue last year that even the best shooters that I played with had to use different jumpshots throughout each game mode because the timing felt like it was tweaked and changed heavily.

2k21 current gen in my opinion was the best grind you never had to buy vc, gym rat after half a season and the vc was close to 23 but still affordable now we’re gonna have to sell ourselves for vc 😅

Man you have to spend money , just do the math on the clothing and accessories for your player, the shit add up

It is really expensive to upgrade your player but i made a rebirth build and i was somewhat relieved to see that you dont need to buy animations more than once but then again that only saves you like 40k per build as opposed to 500k to max a new build.

w video! The "swag" prices are wild!

The prices are crazy but fun tip. If you play through certain parts of the story to where you play with J.Cole, Tyler Herro and Devin Booker in those little parks around the city, GRIND THAT. You’ll get daily challenges to play those and it takes time to complete. You can literally keep going and it’s boring yes but it’s easier than my career. I’ve been doing that and takes maybe less then 10 mins to finish those little 3v3s. 300-400 vc each time with a good grade.

Been saying this stuff for years about 2k. If you look up all the numbers of how much it would cost you to max out a player from the past 4 years you would see how it drastically increased. Visual concepts and take two interactive are becoming more and more greedy and they know they can do it because they dont have any other 🏀 game to compete against them. Also knowing the past 2 years on how much money they made from people without any video of game play before the game dropped. I wouldn't be surprised if it costed about 600k next year to max out a player without buying clothes and animations.

Bro that is all wrong it depends on how you level up your build I went to the park at a 77 overall because I had a 80 3pt, 80, ball handling, and 85 speed with ball by then. I was a 80 overall after 28 mycareer games. That's not even half of the season. Play on allstar or superstar as you level up your build and you can make about 2k a game in mycareer. When you get endorsements you're supposed to max the VC out and lower the incentives all the way so you get 6500 for an event and you still have random incentives for every mycareer game that's 39k VC after 6 endorsements which you get really early lol. Imma 91 overall now and haven't spent a single dime on VC or even the game itself because someone's sharing with me. I also haven't been on the game since the weekend it launched lmao.

Thank you for making this, I feel the VC this year is outrageous and it is something they keep trying to sneakily do. They tried this in another 2k but nobody was with it and they had to fix it (can't remember which year it was). They finally give us the best 2k in a while and then ruin it with VC prices. I enjoy playing mycareer but I absolutely hate the stories and I skip almost all cutscenes.

bro the story makes no sense at all its so stupid. the 18th and 19th pick have beef? for what? its so stupid. i literally skip every cut scene. and to make matters worse the story line makes you ride your stupid ass skate board all over the damn city going slow af. its the worst. they wont let you play your next game because you have to do some dumb ass objective. i literally lost it when i had to do the 'influencer' quest. where they make you follow some slow ass random girl around and have to dance, that one was horrible.. and the rapping bull shit. so cringe. i hate it here lmao

the worst part is most of the players with high attributes already cannot really play the game period. i have played with alot of guys with over 90s and they just suck. the result of just buying vcs than really grinding ang playing the game to be better

I just subscribed, I'm an online and mycareer player, I enjoy both, but this video is correct 💯

This is one of the main reasons i do not play comp anymore. The builder is so vast and so little change can make a such difference on the finished build. It does not make sense that 1 player costs 50euros to get the attributes to par. After that, its a month grind for casual just to get the badges and etc... After buying the game for 80euros, paying 20euros for something in a build, I expect the build to be 100% finished. The other reason is that if you want to do all this without buying vc, you will need to play around 500 my career games. Thats like 100hours... For just 1 build (: We used to have good endorsements on previous 2k's, where you could get up to 5-10k for x games played. However, they just removed all of these just to get more $ out of us...

Ive never bought vc in any of the 2k games that ive played. I got this game on reales and 4-5 days out playing my career im still a 76 overall its honestly pretty insane. That being said I think people arent talking about this enough because most 2k player well up and right buy $50 worth of vc when the game comes out so its never been a time issue for them.

6/ It’s so disappointing that we’re constantly have to deal with VC and the manipulation of it. It’s unbelievable you already buying an expensive game, but you’re still not really able to enjoy or compete the way you want too because you still need real world currency to progress your player in a much more timely manner. I personally stopped buying VC because I got real life bills to pay for and refuse to keep supporting this process.

About time someone said it, 2k22 was more rewarding after completing the story quests

I spent $100 on vc. Maxed out my pg, got some tats, and a couple sets of clothes and now I only have 20k left. It’s getting a little insane. I feel sorry for people who can’t drop extra money on VC and have to grind out in my career and stuff..

There’s also a bunch of things that used to be free but now costs Vc . Such as arena sounds for my career. Granted it’s like 5-25vc per sound but it doesn’t change the fact that they slapped a price on something that’s been free for 5+ years & has 0 value outside of playing home games solo. I believe there’s more in my team as well.
