Nice video Smoove. Good call on the 3 sets of sliders. I have had all those things happen to me, but I guess I usually overlook them and not go back into plays and look. I guess a lot of people probably overlook 2k12 issues because it was so highly rated. Apparently reviewers need to get you to review these games, because apparently the hype and flash of a new game is more important than the deeper gameplay mechanics.

I'm so glad you brought up the moving players collision issue. It is messed up beyond belief. You can never make separation with your player because the CPU defender just runs right through the other players, making basic basketball principles impossible to apply. Thanks again for talking about this.

Completely agree with you on every aspect especially the plays and the inside the paint blocking. I rarely comment but feel I had to support you and show 2K got a good amount of things wrong.

Smoove, I have a question that I hope you answer... Firstly, for both 2k11 and 2k12, as a PG I was not good enough in the summer circuit and have played 12 games in the dleague and still nothing... can you tell me what to expect here? Second, what are your camera settings set to? I really like the feel of how it looks, but I cant get it to look like how you get it to look... Thanks Smoove!

@theraVen27 Thanks. I'm a 68 overall, 12-8 record, 4-2 as a starter. I mainly upgrade my 3pt shot, mid range, dunk, pass, ball security, consistency, and vertical.

im nearly done too ,mr. splash! i think if there is no nba live (elite), there is no good nba 2k... its a pity that 2k was lazy only because ea was out this year! i hope ill be impressed next year!!! great vid smoove... ;)

give me advice, should i buy 2k12 or should i continue playing 2k11. i play it often but not a lot and i've played 20 games in my player since 2k11 came out, should i just stay with 2k11?

with my small forward i got 4 blocks at halftime in one game against bulls. seems unrealistic, then when i check the game stats derrick rose had 3 blocks at halftime. is 2k messing up the game?

I haven't played 2k12 yet. to get the patch, do you download the latest roster? if not what do you do?

Hey Chris I myself was a huge 2k11 fan like yourself and i was super pumped for 2k12. I got it for christmas and after 2 hours of playing i said outloud that it is terrible and im gonna return it. Also one more thing that happens to me alot in my player i am standing about 2 feet off of my man and someone else is driving down the lane, and 2k trys to say that its my man that scores because it just randomly switchs? Also i have another man switch and when i run to the new one, it goes to the old?

The passing delay is because you're lead passing. Basically, if you're moving in a direction, and you press the icon while you're still moving, you'll move the person you're passing to in that direction as well. There are two ways to stop that. A) When you want to pass to a guy, say, in the corner, let go of the stick BEFORE pressing the icon; Basically, just let the stick go neutral. B) Turn off lead passing in the settings altogether.

I saw lots of videos of 2K11, and the my player mode looked amazing, so i had to go out and get it. Upon getting the game though, as a casual gamer who has rarely played Basketball games, I found the My Player mode almost impossible, and when i tried to set the difficulty mode down to rookie, i found that the game wouldn't let me. Is 2k12 easier, because I really want a basketball game, but I don't want to spend $40 on another game that i will be unable to enjoy and left completely frustrated?

Does Chris Smoove use the x button to shoot or does he use the joystick?

I agree the one thing that I have noticed is that there are 2 many reaches called and some people can't get steals. My my player is 89 steal rating but can't steal it off Dwight Howard !

@MRxMUZZYx try doing a move past your defender and usually something will open up. Other than that, keep the floor spaced and play strategically, but don't force passes, they will come eventually

Is this game worth buying or should I stick with 2k11 and wait for 2k13?

I was trying to explain the lead pass thing to my brother and I actually found that like half the time in 2k11, you pass through the defender. When I was showing him a replay, you could clearly see the ball passing through Tim Duncan to LeBron for an easy lay up.

SMOOOOOVE! i can't agree with you more man. the my player is SO broken. I understand that they don't want to make it too easy, but that's what difficulty setting is for. All your specifics are right on point. Overall, they need to make the same rules apply to both team CPU AND opposing CPU. and when I say rules i mean programming. The programming for the opposing CPU have a big advantage. You can have ANY allstar on your team, but they will never be as good as the opposing CPU controlling them.

what about the option of creating your own plays, you can chose to who to pass it, if the PF or the Center does the screen and where, wouldn't be easier for the offline 2k nba?

@Play2Enjoy I hate that too. And it's not a big deal, because the negative isn't that severe, but how does the game determine what is a "bad call for pass". Because last I checked when i come off the pick and roll and find myself wide open in the paint, calling for the pass and getting the easy dunk, thats a pretty good call to me.

@theOtherSon they need a more interactive my player mode too, like you can play a ps3 home on 2k and my coach mode too you can buy shoes, buy property, open shops, have camps, use your phone, laptop, call your friends/teamates stuff like that with the basketball involved

Completely agreed. Especially the blocking nonsense going on. I would do a euro step and get by whoever is in the paint and I'll get blocked when it's a foul and I fall down. this game is ridiculous. And btw as my KZread name shows love u(no homo) Chris

Smoove, I 100% agree with you on the players wasting shot clock. I'm in my player mode as a shooting guard with the Pistons. Half of the time Stuckey or Bynum just passes it around the god damn arc, never working it inside. Then with 3 seconds on the shot clock, someone has to chuck up a three pointer from Jimmer land. That's BS, That's BS!

That but I personally think one that you forgot to mentionn is when your on a fast break and someone is wide open at half court and the closest defender is 10 feet away or so and you throw it and while the CPU is running and looking the other way at your teamate in front of him, deflects the pass

Have 1.6 assists per game and 26.6 points per game. The assists is starting to raise cuz im leading more breaks and getting ally oops but i take all the shots pretty much cuz whenever i pass it they pass it rite back or dribble it off there foot should i get traded to a team tht has a star already at like a sf or sg so i can get more apg or stay in utah and score 30 ppg and get no assists?? I want mvps and rings so which 1??

for some reason teams go on huge winning/losing streaks. in my my player mode the raptors started out 3-0 next thing you know they lose 11 straight and are 3-11. my team in my player is the warriors and we started out 5-0, we lost 10 straight and we are now 5-10.

I´m from Finland and only got into basketball (and 2k11) a few months ago and I was wondering how to set auto plays on im My Player mode? I'm playing as a small forward/power forward and my point guard isin't calling plays and sometimes it feels like I'm just running around in circles. Can someone plase answer? I have major issues with this game. I avg at least 5 turnovers a game. I have a problem with the passing. Just like you said if someone is open in hte paint i will end up passing it to some ons in the corner. Also with the turnovers my handle off hand, ball security, pass are all at least 80's and yet i cant face up defenders because they just take the ball away. i dribble and next thing you know the defender has the ball. This game is crack. Bring back NBA LIVE!!

Thank you for putting words on some (but not all) of the things that are so wrong with this game. 2K11 was great but 2K12 is such a letdown, and seeing all the positive reviews makes me lose hope for the future of basketball games.

sliders in the game can make shots go in easier or have a better chance of making shots,etc.

I've already played a full season and am mid way through my second season in My Player and everything you talk about I see every game. Another part is when you pick the team player(how I see it any way) option for a press conference and what the player says sounds good and yet local fan support drops? WTF! I may just keep playing 2K11. I like 2K12, but getting stuck in animations, the broken speed, and inconsistent shooting is frustrating.

I think the same, pick and roll is just horrible and it is just messed up with speed, there is pretty much no reason to upgrade the speed rating! Keep up the good work Dr. Smoove.

Wat team would actually use there plays that doesn't make any since

I know what you're saying on the speed bursts. My my player was on offense and one of my teammates sets an off ball screen for Scola. Scola fakes to go around the screen and the defender goes over the TOP of the screen and I notice Scola WIDE open in the paint so I pass it to him. This guy who was defending him was beyond the free throw line yet he goes full speed on his first stride and gets a chase down block. The guy had a speed rating of only 54 too. I mean not even Lebron could do that.
