It's actually scientifically proven that yelling at the hammer makes it go faster.

perhaps if you time it right. the expulsion of air from your lungs creates addition force. if you ever hit it right, you immediately feel the difference

James Lill no it tightens your core a lot so you can put extra power, and it also creations an “explosion” of power in the cns which also makes you throw it better.

Your actually pretty close. Studies have shown when people yell during their peak exertion they output significantly more energy then when they are silent. They also experience less pain yelling compared to silence.
This video gets me pumped up and want to throw something into orbit.

The sad part of it is that he won only because of Fajdek's mental problems in qualies. He was throwing 82-83 metres for breakfast before and after that day. This is sad to watch for polish fans as he failed for the 2nd olympics in a row with his nerves.

As a proud USA hammer thrower, these clips give me CHILLS!! A few tears, as well. I'm so proud to be a part of the tradition of the hammer throw, AND a part of the VERY FIRST chance for a woman to compete in the Olympics in this historic event!! I know that I didn't get to go all of the way to the Olympics, I was proud to place 10th at the trials, but I competed, and the women who went, DESERVED their places!! I was just so proud to be a part of the event. One of the best days of my life!l

Love for my Tajikistan. Love from India. Great people and great friends.
You know, in the past I could never understand people getting so emotional over games. Then I look at the reactions that some of these guys feel when they just set world history for their country and I can feel my eyes tearing a little.
Proud of you....keep going ahead...🇹🇯🇹🇯🇹🇯

This is by far one of the most technically challenging events to learn to do- and officiate. The video doesn’t even give contrast to how fast it happens once they are in the circle and commencing a throw. It takes years to get comfortable officiating it properly.
