Nawabshah to Hyderabad Cab Ride I Sohni Mahiwal Tomb & 4000 Years Old Burnt City I Gilani Logs
Journey of History I Adventure on Wheels # 18
Mausoleum of Thul Mir Rukan
This is a Buddhist stupa in Daulatpur, some 15 kilometres (9 miles) south of the city. It has four stages, each smaller than the one below, and is topped with a dome. The tiers are divided by string courses and are embellished with pilasters at intervals. This historical and archaeological mausoleum is 60 feet tall.
Amri (3600 BC)
The remnants of a pre-Harappan walled town may be seen at Amri, which dates back to 3600 BC. On the Hyderabad-Dadu Road, some 60 kilometres east of Nawabshah, the site is located south of Mohenjo-Daro. Despite never being a large metropolis, this location has a multi-level occupancy. Amri Ware was the name given to the pottery unearthed here, which had distinct features. There were no writings at this site, like in other pre-Harappa cities. Around 2500 BC, the settlement was engulfed in flames. The National Museum in Karachi has the most important exhibits.
Chahun Jo Daro (4000 BC)
It is an archaeological site from the Indus Valley civilization's post-urban Jhukar period. The location is 10 kilometres south of Nawabshah. Between 4000 and 1700 BCE, the village was inhabited, and it is thought to have been a centre for the manufacture of carnelian beads.
Chanhudaro is one of the Indus Civilization's most important and largest sites. Although it is located in a desert, it is thought that the Sarasvati River formerly flowed nearby. The Sarasvati river is said to have dried up during the 2nd millennium BC, making life extremely difficult at Chanhudaro and hundreds of other settlements along the Sarasvati's banks.
Fort of Dalel Dero
Dalel Dero Fort is located in between Sakrand and Nawabshah. The walls of the fort were covered with fired bricks. Presently, the fort is in the possession of the villagers, the tourist can visit the fort with prior information.
Tomb of Mian Noor M Kalhoro
This mausoleum is located near Nawabshah, approximately 9 kilometres west of Moro town. Except for a stretch of one furlong near the tomb that is "Katcha," the approach to the tomb along a metalled road is pretty excellent. The tomb is enclosed by a rectangular walled enclosure with a single domed entrance on the eastern side. The inside and outside of the almost 8-foot-high wall are covered with typical arched recessed panels.
Manjhand Shiva Temple
The ancient Shiva temple, located 2 kilometres northeast of modern-day Manjhand, is a one-of-a-kind structure. An arched entryway stretches from the northeast, and the temple's outside and inner walls are adorned with elaborate brick carvings and magnificent fresco paintings.
Dargah Pir Zakri
The Dargah Pir Zakri is the last resting place of Hazrat Syed Muhammad Shah 'Roz-e-Dhani' located in the Syed village, near Sakrand town District Shaheed Benazirabad, Sindh on the right side of the National Highway. The tomb and mosque are decorated with the traditional style of glazed tiles decoration.
Baloo Ja Quba
Baloo Ja Quba is situated in Meer Khan Zardari village. This graveyard is related to the rulers of the Kalhora Dynasty. The tomb upon his grave was built by Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro.
Shrine at Odero Lal
The Shrine at Odero Lal or Udero Lal, is a joint Muslim-Hindu shrine located in the village of Odero Lal, near the city of Tando Adam Khan in Sindh. The shrine is notable as it is jointly used for worship by members of both faiths, while both communities also display reverence for the nearby Indus River at the shrine.
Sindhi Muslims believe the saint interred at the shrine is Sheikh Tahir . Hindus also revere the interred saint as Odero Lal, but offer a different explanation for his origins. Hindus also refer to the saint in the shrine as Jhulelal. It forms the seat of the Daryapanthis, originally a sub-sect of the followers of Gorakhnath, who belong to the Nath tradition. Both communities also refer to the saint by the alternate and religiously-neutral term Zinda Pir, or "The Living Saint."
The complex is home to both a Muslim shrine and Hindu temple. The joint arrangement was devised as a compromise to stem any conflict that might arise regarding by which religious tradition the corpse should be disposed of.
The shrine caretakers hail from both the Muslim and Hindu communities. In the evening, Muslims offer namaz prayers at the shrine while Hindus perform aarti and puja prayers. At the temple, a lamp is kept burning perpetually. On the new moon days, lamps are lighted and the shrine deity, an avatar of Varuna, is worshipped at the nearby river, or other water bodies, with rice, sugar-candy, spices and fruits.

very informative vlog. I never knew about Muhajir problem in Sind. My best friend in USA is a Muhajir from Hydrabad whose family migrated from Jodhpur India. Very good vlog and got information about different places. But surprised about Sohni mahiwal mazar in Sind? We in PB know they belonged to Gujrat city on bank of river Chanab. If so and drowned there, how bodies went all way to Sind.? River Sarswati was a main river of west India, starting in hills of East PB near Ambala and all old civilizations and history of Punjab and Sind existed on its bansks. Then with times it disappeared due to Jamuna flowing east ward. Even now we have Saraswati a rainy season rivulet south of Ambala and near Hindu holy cities of Kurukhetra and Thanesar. where it merge with Ghagar river, makes border between present PB and haryana states. It is said that it was known as Ghaga river flowing in Bahwalpur state also. Now it disappear after hanumangarh in sand deserts of Rajasthan. There at Pilli banga we find some marks of harrappa civilization also. So this all parts of land and history are inter connected. Thanks for ur vlog Sir.

Thanks for your detailed comment and narration about different topics. Yes Muhajir factor begun from Karachi in 1985 and it engulfed the whole Sindh. What a terrible time that was and I personally witnessed it when I was staying at Karachi. No one was safe even he is Muhajir, Punjabi, Pathan or Sindhi. This is Grace of Almighty that now there is nothing like this in Karachi or Sindh. All sects are living peacefully now. It is proved that Sohi Mahiwal is a folk story of Punjab. There are so many evidences that she lived in Gujrat. She used to cross Chenab River to meet her lover on a mud Matka (Water Pot) which was drowned with her. Mahiwal tried to save her but he also flutter with water. Stories say that the bodies of Sohni and Mahiwal flown in Chenab and then River Sindh and discovered near a city of Sindh called Shahdadpur. The duo buried there in a common grave but Sindhi people have their own version of Sohni and claimed that Sohni and Mahiwal belonged from the place where their tomb situated. Now Allah know better about truth. You have mentioned Sarswati. This is one of the 7 holiest rivers in Hinduism. In Pakistani desert Cholistan it is still flowing underground. Some researchers have claimed that they have discovered its course but unable to dig it out. Many cities of lost Indus civilization were located on its banks which were abounded after it become dry. Your remaining research about Sarswati is very good and really admirable.
