Working in a military hospital is no easy feat. You're trained in trauma and combat care - taking every measure possible to save lives wherever possible, no matter the cost. But when you come back to the states, suddenly civilian medicine becomes a whole different ballgame. Just take it from Nikki Selby - she's a Registered Nurse with over 28 years of experience in healthcare, and more than 23 of those years were serving in the Navy.
Since she retired as a Lt. Commander, Nikki's traveled the globe working alongside executive protection, started her own business, and she's even featured on Mike Drop before, way back on Episode 48 of the podcast in 2019. So what's changed since COVID rocked the country? Does Ozempic (and other semaglutide weight loss solutions) really work? And most importantly - what's the secret to living healthy and staying out of the hospital? Let's ask Nikki.

I was in NYC probably the same time as her as an icu nurse, I also have pictures of me at Times Square all alone. Hospitals were getting 40000 dollars per ventilated Covid patient a day! The doctors would keep the patients on the ventilators way longer than they should have been. I felt more people were dying from medical care than actual Covid. It was sad.

No need to speculate, enough papers are out now showing that this was the case, many refused to use steroids even after it became accepted practice due to the initial visceral rejection of it. Along with many hospitals either willfully or through ignorance, causing respiration to crash and the heart to stop through a combination of two medications. Forget exactly atm, too early.

I was there too. Came from TX when they offered $10k a week with a 21 day minimum. I still have the pic on my phone of the mass email that the Texas board of nursing sent out wanting 550 RN’s for a deployment to NYC. Stayed for 42 days, came home with $60k and PTSD.

I like the way Nikki articulated that it was logical thinking instead of political. I almost lost my job as a nurse for refusing and was treated like garbage by some of my nurse friends (ex-friends). It's just so nice to have someone else validate how I felt and my experience. I still cannot believe how even doctors were not willing to use common sense and were willing to take kick backs for pedaling that shit to gullible people.

I love her vision for women and being outdoors, so many of us enjoy things like hiking, shooting, motorcycle riding, but to her point we want to enjoy these hobbies with our lady tribe. Thank you Nikki, and Mike, so Refreshing!!! Definitely will start following her! 🙏🏼🙌 58:12

I spent time working a surgical ortho unit...The racket there was leftovers from PCA. Many times there was alot of hydromorphone left over. That group of nurses would sign each other off on wasting the drug but, not be present. The hydromorphone would get "wasted" into another container and wind up in somebody's arm somewhere in Kentucky.

I respect everything she has done in the military, but this Jab Lab business is a joke. First and foremost it is a health spa that is co-found by two nurses, of which one is a “DNP” which is not a real clinical doctoral degree. Secondly, I think it should be illegal to market yourself to the general public in a way that details your “experience and expertise” such that it includes “surgical care, emergency medicine, plastic surgery, mental health and addiction, evidence-based practice.” Just taking into account the specialties listed above, this would require a 6 year residency, 4 year residency, 7-8 year residency, and 4 year residency for a physician to become board certified in each respective field. They are preying on the ignorance of the general public who read this and believe this Nurse practitioner is truly an expert in all of these specialties, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. She was issued her RN and BSN in 2006 and her DNP in 2012. The DNP (“Doctorate of Nursing Practice”) was revamped in 2008 and heavily marketed to their stakeholders as a means to compete with physicians. The DNP program adds ZERO clinical knowledge and is filled with clerical fluff that is notorious for requiring a weekly paper or discussion board post to fulfill your coursework. This was pushed so heavily, the Physician Assistant programs have been forced to introduce a doctoral degree to remain competitive with NPs, so they recently started awarding the DMsc (“Doctorate of Medical Sciences”), which also adds ZERO clinical knowledge to the already earned masters degree. This is ALL public information you can verify quickly and easily. Now, you have thousands of nurse practitioners lobbying their asses off to get “full practice authority” so they no longer require a physician to oversee their medical decisions and they’re doing so off of the lie that they are going to be the heroes for underserved population, while in reality they are all flocking to open medical spas and clinics such as Jab Lab. Continuing, when you click on their “weight loss program” it is ironic that the only thing they have listed is “Semaglutide” and nothing else. You essentially pay them hand over fist for a prescription that they know very little about, just judging based on their website information. I can assure you there will come a day when all of these little med spas and online “clinics” are shut down by the government for fraud and medical malpractice. It’s sickening and an insult to the actual medical professionals out here practicing real medicine.

They are N95 masks and they cannot legally claim to “prevent the spread of diseases.” It works as a respirator filtration mask to filter particles down to the micron in size. It HIGHLY reduces the spread of respiratory droplets, this respiratory viral diseases. If you compare the spread of respiratory viral diseases on close proximities while wearing a N95 versus no mask, you’ll find out very quickly how much the N95 makes a difference.

Mike, reference the US Flag Code, then look at your “US Flag” displayed behind you. Couple things: The flag should never have anything placed on it; the trident should be removed. Any flag that is not in pristine condition should be retired; the fact your flag is off color and looks tattered by design is incorrect. I know it’s a trend, but it’s wrong and a desecration of our flag.

No, the problem is your understanding. The Flag Code and the respect and treatment of our flag applies to all recreations of the flag whether it’s an actual flag, drawing, plaque, tattoo, sticker or anything thing else. The other problem is people do what they want and create their own rendition the flag just because they think they are special. Everyone wants to be patriotic, but they still need to do it the correct way, otherwise they are wrong. Read the code and you’ll understand.
