Navy SEAL BUD/s Training | Push Ups

How to efficiently do Push Ups.

Mark my words; probably the best video on how to properly do Push Ups. Aim for 100 Push Ups. Do 5 sets of max repeats everday and if at the next day you still feel tired take a day or two of break. Push Ups are great for ABS muscules, chest, arms, shoulders and even your back and legs to lesser extend.

the british sas assesment dont look for the guy who is always first , they look for they guy who is hurting but still pushes on. these are the kind of individuals you would want on an operation with you . i always love hearing guys say i could of been a seal or a force recon marine or what ever because either you are or your not . the difference between that individual and actual operator is he went and met every requirement to be in such a unit not the person who said he could of.

Live life kid. life is different for every person. In boot camp in the 80's. We had those muscle bound guys that could do everything really easy , but they could not run the 3 mile minimum. I was average weight and height . I had no problem running. The O course kicked my ass. The rest was easy.

I would say run 400m sprints at your goal pace and walk when you can't keep that pace. Additionally, also train by running 5km which will increase your aerobic strength because 1.5 miles is both anaerobic and aerobic.

I'm sure this is how you have to do it here. But to get a better exercise out of it, stop right before you straighten you elbows. And just lightly touch the ground. That way you get 0% rest while doing so, and the exercises intensifies.

i hope you are not saying everyone who can surpass the minimum requirements can be a seal because it takes alot more than physical ability to be a part of such a group. during certain assesments they are looking for a certain quality in an individual such as mental toughness , tenacity knowing a you will not quit when the going gets tough . when a person is always first in running or anything physical which is great, but what happens when things get tough is his character can allow him to quit

Not really, depending on how you work out can depend on what kind of body you have. Body builders mainly do strength exercises giving them increased muscle mass. With alot of cardio and easy weight lifting (Like pushups and situps) you will have a smaller frame, built for endurance. Think about Bruce Lee, one of the fastest and strongest men alive and he had a very small build, because all he did were pushups and situps. And he could still punch a 100 pound bag and make it hit the ceiling.

SEALs do not require large muscles and incredible strength. They require endurance and mental toughness with suitable strength. They don't train for 4 years, if they gain girth it is from their own physical training on the side. Also, there is only ONE Special Forces, that is the US Army Special Forces (Green Beret), all other fields (Delta, SEAL, PJ, CCT, SWCC, Ranger, etc.) are Special Operations and fall under SOCOM. Dont tell an SOF they are Special Forces unless they are a Green Beret.

You don't touch the ground, because when you do it the muscles are relaxing, even for a fraction of a second and that doesn't help you working your muscles properly. You stop a few millimeters above ground, but never touch it.I used to do it chest to the ground when I was younger, but then somebody told me to try it this way and the difference was enormous.

@SGCBallistic That's not really a good thing to say. We the U.S. and Canada are allied with eachother so it would be a shame if you actually start hating on them. The last thing we need is perhaps another country to hate on us.

Whether or not the SEAL/s are "better" than JTF2, we aren't 700,000,000,000$+ in debt, so our military budget won't be cut anytime soon. You on the other hand.....

Please don’t protract your shoulders…your shoulderblades* should protract. that extra height isn’t worth risking the shoulder joint that isn’t a joint. Multiple SLAP repairs taking here
