Navajo Handcrafted Copper Bracelet / How it's Made

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video we show you step by step how a domed, copper, handcrafted bracelet is made by the Navajo. Navajo artist Hinton Williams Jr. (aka Red Feather) shows us each step in the process of handcrafting these bracelets. Music in the background is his song The Arts of Medicine, which you can find on red feather's channel at: • The Arts of Medicine

I worked silver for 8 years in Arizona. I loved chasing copper as well.

Very beautiful work. Great craftsmanship. What thickness copper do you make your bracelets out of ? And, will you have any for sale in your Etsy store in the future ?

Hi, fantastic work, but I am curious about a few things. First a little background on me. I'm a former engineer that due to ill health and slowly going deaf. Got into the metal casting and jewelry making. Here in the UK we use ISO (metric) and imperial measures but I am led to understand that you use imperial measures only, so why are you using both as well? Do you buy your flat bar or cast it yourself? May I suggest that when you are using your doming tool work from the ends of the piece towards the middle then it will be easier to work the sides of the bangle. Do you clear coat the items to prevent verdigris transfer to skin? Love the video. Hope everything goes well with you and yours . Big hello from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Local Native shops is where Red Feather got most of his stamps, but you can find them online and he custom made a couple himself.
