Naturopathic Medicine 101
Integrative care incorporates useful and proven complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) modalities into holistic patient-centered clinical practices. Patient-centered care is usually provided by a team, and that team often includes a naturopathic doctor (ND).
So who are ND’s and how do they practice? What happens when ND’s are added to the scope of care? This webinar will review the principles of naturopathic medicine and its approach to patient care, the education and training received by naturopathic doctors, ND licensing and scope of practice, and the work taking place at Bastyr’s teaching clinic, the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, which serves more than 35,000 patients annually

@@jasoncollin9949 what a pathetic comment to make. If you are serious about pursuing a career in naturopathic medicine then the best place to start is a bachelors degree in herpetology (e.g. the study of reptiles). That way you can learn how to extract oil from snakes.

In Australia its called a Bachelor of Health Science ,not sure what it is called in other places. A Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Naturopathy takes four years to complete if you study full time. Part-time education could take longer like eight years

Naturopathic doctors diagnose using the same techniques and methods as medical doctors. So things like testing blood and urine, taking vital signs, taking a patient’s history, using inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation, etc. to assess the body, and so on. They can also refer for imaging (MRI, CT, etc.) to be done if need be. Hope that helps!

Good question! I think the real difference is that naturopathic healer’s website currently has a promotion that will give you $50 off your next meal planner subscription! Whereas the fictional medicine practitioner does a tie-in promotion with their yoga instructor friend Kiesha that can save you $50 of your next ten yoga lessons! So many bargains! Sent me a lock of your hair and for $340 I’ll tell you not to eat tomatoes!

@@leangroundbeef2322 actually naturopathic medicine gave me quality of life after years and years of seeing medical drs. It’s not quackery. The fact that pharmaceuticals is the number one killer in America, sounds like modern medicine is the quackery in healthcare.

Functional medicine is typically a conventionally trained medical doctor or nurse practitioner who has crossed over into more natural healing and focusing on root cause treatments.

Is just an angry and saddened individual who finds consolation in trying to debunk naturopathy because she had a bad experience in her career choice and employment. No need to put everyone in the same bag. Follow simple logic.
