Nature: Yosemite's "firefall"
We leave you this Sunday at California's Yosemite National Park (closed by snow this year), where last year's "firefall" - when the falls are lit by the setting sun - was one for the ages. Videographer: Lance Milbrand.

The natural Firefall is one of Yosemite National Park’s most amazing spectacles. Around the second week of February, the setting sun hits Horsetail Fall at just the right angle to illuminate the upper reaches of the waterfall. And when conditions are perfect, Horsetail Fall glows orange and red at sunset.

Yes, hopefully you can visit. Yosemite is AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL!!! You will love it! ✌️
Yosemite an amazing climb. Got lost up there (carrying heavy pack, 'friend' ran on ahead), had to listen to sound of waterfall to find my way down.
So Beautiful!
I love this at the end of the show!!
Simply gorgeous!
I'm obsessed and in love with Yosemite National Park and I haven't even been there yet! I hope to in the near future. I live on the east coast so it would be a plane ride across the country but I know it would be worth it
More of this please.
When humans just leave things alone...
Difinatly on my bucket list to see before the Good Lord Takes me home... A must see event..
Such gorgeous footage. Like a painting.
Awesome
This year the valley will be spectacular! See you in October
wow
I am so glad we have national parks protected from exploitation.

No way. Do you have any idea how much profit can be made by just the lumber alone?

@@joes4990 Not to mention lumber removal is essential for forest health. They control burn in Yosemite all the time for the health of the undergrowth.
I’ve BEEN There!
Wish there was an extended version for background noise and scenes!

Go on KZread. They have hour long videos of similar quality. I’d rather be watching stuff like this than anything on tv. 😊
Beautiful... (I want to move out of the City. No train wrecks no car racing at 2am in the morning. No open ended conversation from whom ever). Just peace. Thank you!
What bird is that singing so unusually?

Steller's Jays!
God's elements are so beautiful. Man will never see all his creations. However, let's enjoy what we can see...and praise God.
Awww! I thought this was going to be a ‘tip of the hat’ to the “real” firefall they used to do way back in the day. When at nightfall, they’d push buckets og glowing coals over the rock escarpment. Truly a huge fire potential, but magnificent to see.

Locals consider this the real firefall. 😉
How did you get a Firefall shot with no people? There were hundreds of people watching when I was there a few weeks ago.

This year might have been the best and longest the Firefall lasted in a long time. Horesetail Fall is still flowing.

Thanks god for His beatiful creation Seen and unseen To him be the glory Not science not man’s On earth 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀😒😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😒
It's not the real Firefall from back in the 60's... That I remember seeing as a kid

Thank the hippies for that disappearing. Horsetail Fall is the real Firefall.

@@coreym162 Why would you say that? Whats your proof of this statement?
Thank God greedy corporations didn't get there hands on places like this.
Too bad you could not spend the money to get actual video clips from Horsetail Falls. Panning over stills doesn't cut it. I usually enjoy your nature segments, but this one is disappointing. The grandeur of Yosemite is hard to capture in imagery, but you could have done better.

Jennifer, that was live video. I was there, I spent the money for a hotel and experienced it live, those were not stills shots.
The only segment I view now
