    What is a "curly cuts"?

I could've answer this question just like you could've typed this same comment in Google to get the answer for yourself. It's very inconsiderate to not try to educate yourself on a subject that has been discussed extensively on my channel more than 6 times in the past month. While this may be your first video that you have seen of me, this is the equivalent of walking into class in the middle of the lecture and expecting for the teacher to breakdown concepts that have already been discussed extensively. I can't simply answer this question because there's too much depth to breakdown for you to get context for the video content. If you plan to continue watching me, I expect you to meet us halfway and not spoon feed you information. www.google.com/search?q=What+is+curly+cuts&sxsrf=AB5stBhsR2QbpVZAuHukuEVXs3twO5L-LQ%3A1689200226201&source=hp&ei=YiavZNO0CfWp5NoP9Mm8aA&oq=What+is+curly+cuts&gs_lcp=ChFtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1ocBADMgUIABCABDIGCAAQFhAeMgYIABAWEB4yBggAEBYQHjIGCAAQFhAeMggIABCKBRCGAzIICAAQigUQhgMyCAghEKABEIsDOgcIIxDqAhAnOgQIIxAnOg4ILhCABBCxAxDHARDRAzoICAAQgAQQsQM6CwgAEIoFELEDEIMBOggIABCABBDJAzoICAAQigUQkgNQiAtY0xpglCBoAXAAeACAAY8BiAGfBpIBAzMuNJgBAKABAbABD7gBAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-hp

Hey man....be nice I don't think that user was expecting YOU to personally answer the question, she's probably like alot of viewers when they stumble upon new content, they assume someone (ahem like myself who is an avid watcher of your videos and is currently growing my natural hair past my collarbone) to answer the question. Let me tell her, curly cuts is a trend that natural stylists are trying to push on alot of people with 3c and 4c hair and curly hair in general. It's where a stylist cuts your hair in it's curly state and basically hacks at your ends. At first the cut looks cute, and the person getting it is happy cuz they're sold this thought process of "since you wear your hair curly all the time, why not cut it curly and shape it so you look fabulous." Also, at first they tend to look cute, but cutting curly hair is very deceptive because curly strands/hair hides imperfections/flaws in any cut. This video, and the one prior, the guy narrating (aka the maker of the video African Hair God) is trying to show that curly cuts damage your hair and causes split ends down the road. He's trying to show us how healthy hair should look vs damaged ends. Hope that helps kiddo! 👍😜😍

@@hollistersurferdudesee I don't have time for all of that and then all of the follow up questions after the fact. I don't think what I said was mean nor do I think it's anyone else's responsibility to answer her. You did a great job breaking down the situation but what happens when someone not so knowledgeable replies with misinformation? People are lazy and don't want to do any leg work for themselves and then when you politely tell them that they should look up what a curly cut is, then they want to snap at you. It's easy to say that on the outside looking in. Yall don't see what I see or get the responses that I do. But I do appreciate you for breaking it down. If you want feel free to copy and paste to respond to the other 100 people here asking what a curly cut is but didn't bother to just type it in a search bar or even just educate themselves from reading other comments in the comment section.

We hear so much about splits and thickness at the end of the hair. It is beyond helpful to see a real example of how damage looks throughout the hair. Most of us don’t even think to look past the thickest part of the ends. The better we can identify damaged hair, the better we can address it and move toward having a healthy head of hair.

You just gained a new fan. Every word you said here was 10000% correct. I gave up on these so-called "stylists" over 12 years ago because I would either have to constantly explain that my hair wasn't damaged since I don't have a defined "hair type" or they always wanted to use some type of treatment or chemicals on me. It was so refreshing for you to explain that your healthy hair client doesn't have a specific curl type or pattern because I have never ONCE heard a stylist admit that & it was very discouraging to me; I've cut my hair off sooooo many times before realizing that this is just what I have. Literally every section of my hair does its own thing. This video felt like a big hug for me. ❤❤❤

All these stylists treat your hair as if there's something wrong with it or that it needs to be adjusted to something more "desirable". I recognize hair for what it is and allow the hair to guide me to what is suitable for it. That's what separates me from the rest of them

Lastly, please continue to educate us on how to properly take care of our hair, so that we start to have those conversations, to raise the bar and the expectation that honestly, we deserve. You have said nothing but FACTS!!!! BRAVO!!!! Thank you! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

Great video! It's nice to see that the ole school way of doing things proves that it works and keeps our hair healthy! What Afrikan Hair God is doing, is how my grandma maintained our hair the natural way! My Dad used a famous grease and water and his hair was shiny and healthy! Thanks for the sharing!

Keep up the fabulous advice! 😊The stylist on KZread can advance themselves if they further their education in cosmetology and/or natural hair as well be around experts like yourself to enhance their knowledge about all hair types. I agree with what you've said. I am a cosmetologist and so was my mother, therefore I can spot damaged hair on anyone. Stay safe.

I have been watching you for ever, and it has been a pleasure to learn from you and watch you level up. And I want to thank you for advocating for us on this matter. I no longer trust female stylists period. All the years I went to them I came back with thinner and thinner hair. My hair would thicker up every time I took care of it so I stop patronizing beauty salons altogether. I wished I could find a male stylist who was passionate about healthy hair so it was a breath of fresh air to find you! Your work is Diamond platinum nobody can take that from you. Peace ✌🏾 love ❤️ and thank you for going in on these stylists trying to down you when they really wish they could be on your level!!! And to the stylists looking down on him STOP and learn from each other and collaborate THAT’S WHAT WE NEED PLEASE 🙏🏾

I had a hairstylist ban me from their salon cause I modified my ‘Brazilian Blow Out’ to a Silk Press/Deep Conditioning because I discovered I had scalp psoriasis and I didn’t think it was a healthy option. They just want your money they don’t care about hair health.

You are right bro once a year is the most to trim your hair if you take care of it. Most stylists are scissor happy. Im tired of paying people for messing up and chopping off my hair so I stopped going 12 years ago and ain’t looked back. My hair has been the longest and thickest it’s ever been in my life with my own regimen and trust I keep it simple.

Oh I saw split ends before you even said…. People need to be more concerned with HEALTHY Length vs JUST Length. Dead ends stop your hair from truly retaining length/growth.

Yesss....I started back to the basics...water and grease as well....I have not been to a salon in over 8 years because every person who claims to really know hair actually doesn't and I'm one that will talk to my stylist to make sure we're on the same page....so many "stylist" think that because they're the "professional" they know more about what has been happening with your hair then you....not cool...it's about coming together and communicating on the best way to healthy hair...I realized with me hair change as we age.... medication can effect hair....even our everyday health can as well...thx for the message....keep being you and keeping it 💯.... the only ones mad with you are the ones that know you are talking to them...

Wow I’ve never seen hair like this. I’ve started listening to your advice and the improvement in managing my hair has been amazing . Now I see what healthy hair looks like and how damaged my hair actually is. I’m going to do trims often to get rid of the damage because I’m too attached to my length to big chop😂. Hopefully one day I can have a full head of healthy hair.

Thank you, my mom only used water and Vaseline on my natural curly hair as a kid and it grew, very healthy. It was only when I got older I used all those different products that damaged my hair, or going to stylist that my hair was burned out after 2 weeks of salon care, I have been afraid to go back thinking, the heat will burn my hair out again. Now I'm trying to get my natural curly hair to get back right, it can be very heart broken. Thanks for sharing, I wish you were here in Houston area.❤

Of course you live in Atlanta. Everything you spoke was right on. I long ago stopped going to hair salons for all of the reasons you noted. The last time I let someone touch my very fine, very dense (most stylist don't even know what that means) I ended up w/ a yeast infection and lost 1/3 of my 4cz 17 inches of hair. I had to do a BIG CHOP and the worst area of hair lost took 1.5 years to begin to grow back & is still shorter than the rest of my hair. I was hoping you were in LA - I'd be their next month. Oh well, I'll keep doing my own hair and watch it thrive.

I'm dealing with this now. My ends never used to be this thin, nor my hair so weak in general. I see the tapering you speak of in my hair. I never used to have so many split ends. I thought it was just the stylists who were cutting corners in how they cut my hair, but apparently it could be my hair products too. I have just a little bit of hair milk from Mielle and some leave-in and styling cream from Melanin Haircare to phase out, but will grab me some Sulphur 8 anyway. It must be that we (or I) have introduced too much moisture into our hair.

Your message is the truth, when you go to most stylists with questions & concerns, they usually cop an attitude. That's why I stopped going to these salons, it's their arrogance, yet I'm the one paying them money. I use grease & water (no hair straightening at all, no fake hair or wigs) & trim my own hair. Its managed to grow healthy long without their "professional" help.
