fun fact:they use dark blue or dark purple for black haired ppl in animations so it’s easier to animate they also put streaks of color if it’s black hair so your eyes focus on the color making the illusion that the black hair is moving thats why like marinette and sabine they have dark blue hair in the animation bc it’s easier to animate (no hate btw i’m just telling why the hair is dark blue)

They chose blue hair as Marinette's hair is black with blue highlights in the comic and they didn't change it because in the french version in Adrien's poem they said that Marinette's hair is black as night and in the German it says her hair is black as ebony or whatever in the English when it says her hair is dark as night they were implying it to be black not blue btw and sometimes her hair does look black with blue highlights like in the comic just depends on the lighting every version of the translation says or implys that it is black but the french version is correct the English, German and whatever dub may not have the poem word for word correct as they still need to make it rhyme but it is black. Marinette's hair is canonically black. It does look blue in some shots because of the way 3D animation works, but in-universe/to the other characters, it still reads as black. That is all, (line from google) so basically she hasnt got legendary hair :')

Guys, can we all agree to disagree, that the TV show Mari has blue hair, and the anime one, has the black hair, and stop saying that well canonically...well cannonically the animators like some said in the comments, changed it to blue, because it was too hard to do it black, so cannonically her hair is blue now. So cannonically all these videos with Mari in blue hair is correct. My opinion in a way.

Thats... not how cannon works 💀 If it's changed to blue for animation but cannon it's black, then the hair is black. Like you litterally said, the authors changed it to blue for animation. However you left out the part where they say her hair IS black.

Well you are right and wrong, The characters see the hair as black, and mari does have black hair, but they changed her hair to blue so that 3D animation could work, plus it appears blue for us, so technically yes you are right and no you are wrong.
