柔道やってて巴と十字固めを得意にしてたものだけど、角田選手の巴を警戒しながらの十字固めを防ぐのは至難の業。 48㎏級としては規格外の手足の長さから繰り出される巴投げは耐えていても粘って持っていかれる威力があるし、その粘りに耐えるには自らしゃがみ込むよう感じで耐えるしかない。そうなると脇を通って後ろに回られて背後からの十字固めを狙われるか(3戦目)、伸び切った手を狙われるか(2戦目)のどちらか。 角田選手の素晴らしいのは、極めにくい女子の柔らかい関節を「ネジリ」から「テコ」に移行する3次元的に極める技術を持ってる。十字固めはテコで決めるのが基本だから、普通はネジリに耐えるようには守らないし警戒もしない。 正直、この技術を持ってる女子は見たことがないです。

おそらく各国の選手達は、十分に想定して対策して来ている。 その上で、この結果‼️ 素晴らしい👏

相手も柔道の強豪なのに、明らかに警戒されている技を決めるのだから凄いな。

1人の存在でこの階級の寝技のレベル跳ね上がりそうやな

巴からの腕十字はサンボの方がメジャーですよ。写真とかに残っている最古は高専柔道だと思うけど。いずれにせよ、単なる引き込みからではこんなふうには極められない。

She's so strong and stable is insane. Last time I saw her get thrown was like against Tonaki. If she doesn't win in Paris is going to be very surprising. Arai yesterday also won basically with newaza if I'm not mistaken, might be worth checking out. Nakamura from the -60kg also very good newaza. And what'd you think of Takayama getting the spot for Paris? Tbh Japan doesn't have anyone better and she's been the most stable this cycle, so I agree with the selection. It's a shame Ikeda, Kuroda, Inaba, etc (Sugimura had like only two chances as well) didn't get a chance of going to an international competition this cycle, I hope they get their chances for LA.

Good on Takayama. She's entertaining, win or lose. What's happening at Super-heavyweight? The last I was heard was that it would be Tomita or Sone and since then only Tomita has competed and didn't look good. Bit surprised that Arai turned Fontaine so easily. Fontaine's weight loss helped her tachiwaza in this tournament, but made her easier to pin.

I'm new to judo, I've only done a few lessons but have done a little bit of bjj too. So hopefully someone can clear it up for me; I'm sure in this tournament or maybe when I was watching replays from worlds I've seen people get penalised when their tomoe nage's didn't look enough like an attempt to throw. To me these look even more like guard pulls, especially the second takedown against the swedish judoka and the one against the spanish judoka. Is there anything in the technique I'm not seeing or should that really be ruled as more of a guard pull? Thanks

The rules are a mess, but what I've seen is that if the other judoka shows any sign of resisting the technique (bending knees, moving away, jumping over, etc) it is considered a valid technique and not a false attack.

I meant that more in a figurative way. I mean this girl does not let it slip. If she sees a chance to win either by throw or ground work, she seizes it without compromise. Such persistence is admirable. Uta Abe is kind of the same. True judo spirit. @@iieheuskeiiil2120

そのうち「関節技を多用するのは柔道らしくない！」とかイチャモンつけてきて寝技の時間減らしたり寝技自体無くしたりしそう 過去に足取り禁止にしてるからやりかねないしな。柔道ってすぐルールコロコロ変えるし

日本人の競技人口が減る中で外国への普及も大事ではあるから　一番強いやつが勝つのも大事だが柔道自体が生き残るほうがもっと大事なのかもしれん　己を極限まで磨き上げたという勲章は見てきた人の心にそして自分の中にたしかにあるのだから

When you practice one technique 10,000 times...They know it's coming and they can't stop it. And if they do stop it then the juji comes into play. Just the most unassuming female judoka. I always like how the euros try to intimidate her by trying to overpower her and being super aggressive. Then she nicely dismantles them.

柔道は投げ技だけじゃなく抑え、締め、関節もやらないとな。

That was an impressive display that Tsunoda did, I felt like the commentators gave her no credit, not even commenting on one of her final matches. I had to look for the tatami number and watch it with no commentary. I'd like to know, maybe someone can tell me, about her competition weight, did she come down from 52? What is the reason? It's ridiculous, she looked like she was toying with her competitors.

Tsunoda used to compete at -52 but Uta Abe is the dominant Japanese player at that weight class so Tsunoda dropped to -48.

What is it with BJJers taking credit for judo ? Most of the techniques in BJJ came from judo: whatever you get in BJJ that isn't in judo is forbidden in judo competition

She is so, so good and dominant. Looks like making weight for 48kg is more difficult for her than defeating opponents on the mat.
