Good move by Russia as it anticipates NATO moves perfectly. The Russians are great chess players, and this is a sound Gambit, given the Kaliningrad situation. This Russian move may be what Lithuania and Findland say, but consider this: since 2023, and throughout 2024 both those countries have been talking about hosting NATO nuclear weapons. Russia is finally, deciding to do something about that, in its defense, and yes, best interests. So, again, who escalated first? Europe. Who complains now? Europe. Europe will have to understand, its neighbor is _entitled_ to its defense and because the West, Finland and Lithuania included, have breathed fire but never tried to talk to Russia, what could've been solved via diplomacy, now plays in a much different tune. The difference, Europe has no useful armaments, and USA is not coming to the rescue; Russia has excellent armament and has partners willing to help.
