Explanation: Nukes have been detonated, radiation and nuclear fallout begins, the whole planet will begin to cool down exponentially to id say around -50 degrees celsius, there will be no more Sun for a while, which adds to you getting even more sick due to no vitamin D, the only place that might be safe is Antarctica because they have a bunker with so many seeds of the world to maybe replant but then again that's if the other places that haven't and when the world freezes it will stop the poles from melting at a fast rate, not sure if they have enough for to last long enough for the sun to come back though.

It doesn't scale linearly, for the simple reason that a city only holds so many people in it. You can't kill more people than already exist wherever the nuke lands.

@@dsdy1205 sure but for example 2 megaton bomb should level area of around 175 square kilometers, when you multiply this number with population density you get to a really high casulties count. For example Prague has population density somewhere around 2600 ppl per square kilometer, with simple math you get like 450 000 casulties. Of course considering that everyone dies in those collapsed buildings and it is only approximation but I still find it more accurate.

@@zrusit9640 each city gets more than one bomb, and the population density drops off as you leave the city center. Overall there's a finite number of people in each city, and so eventually if you saturate the city with enough bombs you run into diminishing returns. Why would Australia not be targeted? Sure we don't have nuclear weapons but we're still part of the west. I have a wacky theory. Imagine that Russia feels as though its losing too hard and wants to hit back at some part of the west as a final goodbye from Putin's regime. Nuking Australia and NZ could be totally inconsequential. A few city killers would incapacitate the country, not cause nuclear winter or harmful radiation reaching the rest of the planet, and there would be no NATO retaliation since we're not part of the treaty.
