Great video thanks John - much better explanation of how it works in a shorter space of time than Microsoft's official videos! It's now gone into GA and no, Azure Active Directory support for accounts didn't make it. It is also pretty expensive an option at 25p per hour to have SFTP enabled on these Storage Accounts !

Azure noob here... I managed to set this up successfully from the documentation. I am surprised it has taken this long for SFTP to become native on AZ. Keen to use this over any IaaS solution (as no need to support a full fat VM) for my organisation a storage account supporting up to 1000 local accounts will be more than enough - equally could just create another storage account to scale if required. I have been testing SFTP using containers as well however looking to trigger start/stop of containers needs some more investigation on my part. Great to see this functionality being added!

Hope they will create folder level access, i.e. local user can only access two high level olders and not any other high level folders.

Great video! I’m glad they added sftp support.

Once Firewalls are enabled we are frequently getting connection timeout issues for sFTP.

Super useful! Can I use it via private endpoints behind Azure Firewall?

So nog GRS or GRS- RO accounts supported yet ? Can I enable object/container level replication to another, sftp enabled, storage account in another region ?

Remember this is early preview. Any restrictions today may not be there at GA. This is a chance to play with the feature.

Great stuff, hope they'll add FTPS at some stage.
