Native Pottery Demonstration with Jared Tso (Diné)

Jared about his pottery "My connection to clay is one that is generational. Four to be precise. Four iterations of healing, tradition, and community that have created a path that I now stand on. And as I walk down this path I have noticed milestones manifested in material, process, technique, methodology, connection and creation. As I ponder these concepts, I have taken the time to reflect. What kind of reactions would previous generations have toward the vessels I create? What critique would they give?"

Thanks Jared for demonstrating your art and skill. It is great to see artists work, particularly when the artist brings traditional as well as classroom skills and techniques. I find it interesting that you are using coil construction. So often the coil method with a slip coating is shown. This is the first rock polishing technique I have seen.
