Native American Smudging Ceremony of the CSU Spur Vida Building
John Gritts, an Elder of the Cherokee Nation, performed a Smudging of the Vida Building. With lit sage, cedar, sweetgrass, and a special prayer, Smudging is a Native American ceremony to purify and bless a new building and endow all of the future visitors with a good heart and a good mindset during their time there.
