National Geographic's Young Explorer Grants
Xpedition.TV takes a look at National Geographic's Young Explorers and the magazine's effort "to find the next generation" of scientists, adventurers and storytellers.
During interviews with Ric Gibbs in Telluride last May, Nat Geo's O'Shannon Burns lays out the Grants Program and introduces us to several alumni: polar explorers Eric & Sarah McNair-Landry, photographer Becca Skinner and biologist/photographer Anand Varma.
Y.E. grants are an awesome opportunity, open to adventurers (ages18-25) who have a passion project they'd like to undertake. Besides... who couldn't use a leg up from one of the biggest, most respected publications in the world?

Hello! NG! Here on Mexico are some young explorers with really interesting projects, like me! We just need a chance and a little bit of your atention on our work. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Liconides, I believe you can be 25 and still eligible for Young Explorer Grants. I spoke to O'Shannon Burns several times (she sits on their expeditions counsel) it seems they are more compelled by a great expedition idea than by age. See the link to their program in the video description above. They also have workshops to explain all the details. Also MANY other companies offer "expedition grants" on a case-by-case basis. A simple google search will open a world of possibilities!
