National Anthem of the Kingdom of Greece (1865-1973) [Original Band Version]

Dionysios Solomos wrote "Hymn to Liberty" in 1823 in Zakynthos and one year later was printed in Messolonghi. It was set to music in 1865 by the Corfiot operatic composer Nikolaos Mantzaros, who composed two choral versions, a long one for the whole poem and a short one for the first two stanzas; the latter is the one adopted as the national anthem of Greece.

Fun fact: Philharmonic Society of Corfu (which is playing here) was the first ever band that performed the current composition of the music of the Hymn to Liberty in 1865, when King George I of the Kingdom of Greece heard it.

What a majestic tune!
Someday, I don’t know when but someday, this tune will be played at the Hagia Sofia as the new king of Greece is crowned in Constantinople.

If Greece becomes a power that can bully turkey and put pavlos the 2nd as king it would make it better
