Lana wrote it, then someone made a graphic of tne letter and signed it “Jackie Kennedy” but she never wrote such a thing. Stop spreading misinformation, it was all Lana

@@legitnesquick she didn’t. She was inspired by Jackie’s story and wrote the monologue to reflect that. The director of the video said so himself. There’s no record of Jackie ever saying any of that. The closest she gets to it is talking about how she’s scared JFK will be someone who ““loves the chase and is bored with the conquest - and once married needs proof he’s still attractive so flirts with other women and resents you.” That’s obviously inspired in the monologue but she never said that monologue.

that "and i loved him, i loved him, i loved him..." part is so beautiful... breaks my heart every single time..

That gunshot during her speech scared the living shit out of me

7 years ago when my boyfriend died this monologue really felt like it was written by me for him. Lana pulled me through the darkest times of my life with her beautiful art. It still pulls so much emotion out of me and she will always be my favorite artist of all time.

@@editedbylaurel well Jackie had the same breathy voice if you heard her voice it was common in the 50 and 60s so I understand why you think that and in the music video it is about jackie like how he was assassinated it showed that kinda and you can hear the gun shot witch is supposed to be the gunshot that shot JFK so that's why I thinks its about Jackie but at the same time I'm not sure so yeah.

In the monologue part Close your eyes, sleep, think about that human Who you loved, you can't get them out of your mind And then you'll know what's happend If you never fall in love, you better not try this If you try this, you will get confused and take this song like it has no meaning

My fave part, "Money is the anthem of success, So put on mascara, and your party dress"

Is there anyone else who loves the part started from "It's a love story for the new age..." "Wining and dining...." and ended with"... in his bell tower hotel." ?? That is the most unique and beautiful part...😢💓

Leah Owens Yes, her monologue at the end is the speech that Jackie Kennedy made to the public after JFK was assassinated. If you watch Lana Del Rey's music video to 'National Anthem' you can tell that it is about Jackie Kennedy and John F. Kennedy. The scene in the beginning of the video when Lana sings 'Happy Birthday' to the president is about when Marilyn Monroe sang to JFK at his birthday when they were also rumored to be having a secret affair. The scenes in the middle is of Jackie and John having fun, being in love and raising their kids, then the ending scene when he gets shot is obviously a reenactment of his assassination, then the speech plays.
