Rukmini mam...I had been a classical dance student in the past ...and I left it at a point where I thought I couldn't pursue anymore ....the charisma was lost back then....but years after that point...when I watch your videos...you are the only one dancer who inspires me again to go back and learn the dance back again... Reading these comments I now know why I lost the charisma back then...it was because I lost the fluidity in dancing, a form that I would rather appreciate and marvel to follow than the rigid and systematic training I was forced to follow....I lacked experimentation and I forgot to cherish my natural expressions and emotions.....you gave me light that there is nothing wrong with being this free and fluid ... I am really happy that I found your channel online...this gave me back the feel ...the charisma I was looking for a long time.... I can get myself lost watching you dance ...thanks for existing....I feel to dance the moment I saw your videos....more power to your body ,soul and mind😌🙏

To all those people here who has nothing else to do than criticize her...she is wearing a saree...okay?!!! A bit differently..but still it's not revealing...for why on Earth do people like you feel the need to pull her down..I mean you guys couldn't find faults in her dance so you thought you would criticize her for her costume...I mean there is a limit to jealousy too right??? Rupika Ramakumar I just wrote to another woman who used the word modest and said she needs to dress more modest. Like how much more can she be modest? Her entire body is covered!! And this is a comment from another woman. We are our own insult. When women stop disgracing each other, women as a whole will advance to better heights. It’s the negativity and shaming that has held us back further below men in pay, rights etc. Only the new generation can change these stupid views of ancient times. 💪🏽

When women don’t respect and protect women, how do you expect men to? How do you expect your sons, your brothers, your husbands, and your fathers to? Some food for thought for all the women!! If you have daughters you will learn soon. This prejudice has to stop. Treating men in our culture as if they are allowed to be, to do whatever they wish while women aren’t and criticized for every little thing.

Still, I, as a man I am able to dress myself in a saree better then her in this video. This is a fact. It is an obvious observation of a piece of clothing arranged in a deranged manner that steals from her performance., that's all... Sometimes we just don't care, and maybe she was in that mood, but that means you should expect this kind of observation... And anyway, for sure, any traditional dance gurus would notice this aspect because in arts everything is important, and discipline includes our way we wear the clothes in which we perform.

@@stefmircea2210 Sir as a woman..now lemme say something...there is nothing called a proper way of doing things... especially in art...I mean all the musicians if you take for example,no two singers sing a composition in the same way right? I mean they shouldn't either...they have the freedom to improvise it the way they want..maybe it won't be acceptable by the other...that doesn't make it wrong though...now coming to her dress...she is an independent artist now...and as for a saree you can wear it any way you want... it's all about comfort..the person who is wearing it should be comfortable..now if the ones who are watching aren't comfortable..then clearly the problem is with us...not with her..This is my opinion.

Ok so I read all the comments, and here is my honest opinion. I love watching you and you videos. You are the embodiment of elegance. I see the modern women in you. In awe with the dance and at the same time, how you keep yourself fit.Someone commented disliking on your body being athletic. That shows their insecurities. One should experiment with the art, to connect to the masses. And you do ♥️

I don't know about bharatham.but her costume makeup accecories are Different simple & nice.performed very well.I like rukmani in anandha thandavam movie. Kana kankiren..kana kankiren Kannalanee... .song

I've read so many comments on that and this style. Each style in Bharathanatyam has its own grace and beauty. Appreciate the beauty of it rather than thinking that this style has rigid movements and this style doesn't. Art is beyond these limitations. If you like one dance, like it and love it. If you don't like some other dance, keep the opinion to yourself, coz you have no right to disrespect that artist's hardwork.

This temple is Lalithambikai temple located in thirumeyachur

I am also a bharatanatyam dancer..I have performed this particular item while giving the diploma exam..I can clearly see the difference in choreography of the dance...first learning I thought it was a traditional item but after seeing it I realized it is not...anyway..you are very graceful mam..!😎🤩🤩

Oh my , I just could not take my eyes off, it felt like Goddess Parvati dancing for Lord Shiva. The way that the dancer draped her saree superbly elegant.

Dance is wonderful...this temple is located at thirumechiyur village, mayiladudurai district,south india. Lalithambigai is the famous godess worshiped here

This is so beautiful. How differently choreographed. I remember my dance teacher teaching us this kauthuvam and I still remember the steps. Same song and how many versatile styles. You have rocked it ma'am, loved your expressions too

This was one of the songs i had performed before ma injury and fracture due to which i stoped dancing. ....this has brought great memories..

I understand that here she is performing dance as a worship in the temple... But, frankly, i do not understand that there is not one professionally made video with such performances. Not movie-cuts or filming it on the stage, but a proper dance video. Traditional dance in India is mesmerizing and a meditation true eyes and sound, I wish there would be more qualitative videos of Indian traditional dancers. Particularly such magic ones.

Excellent as usual. Indian classical dance deserves much more public attention and you (and few others) are doing good job spreading its beauty. Gone are the days where those great dancers/heroines in Bollywood mesmerized us with their dancing skills (in classical dance) for decades.

The performance with maximum energy is wonderful. The location and the sincere presentation with high devotion is highly appreciated.

I sincerely wish I could continue dance again everytime I see your performances ! I couldn't get an opportunity to continue and it breaks me so much that I had to quit doing something I really love !! I'm told after being married and when I'm 30 I can't want to continue or learn Bharathanatyam 😭 but it indeed is something that I need for myself more than anything else ... I m only having those helpless tears when I see your performances 😔 And to be honest you are an inspiration .... !!
