We had a memorial service for my grandmother this past weekend. At the start of the service the pastor came up to do an introduction and started off by somberly saying “hello folks.” Suddenly my cousin yells from the back of the room, “LETS GO FOLKS.” The room was dead silent, and then I barely overheard his wife saying, “I can’t believe you just did that, Dave.” I don’t think anyone else got it, and the pastor was bamboozled, but I got a short break from the sadness and almost laughed out loud. I told him I listened as well after the service, and he said if I left a comment to tell “Baxter” hello.

NATELAND: The only podcast I don’t 30-second skip through the ads because hearing Nate try to say “monitoring” is pure gold.

At around the 32:42 minute mark, Nate stumbled through a series of words for a few seconds that went something like, “Cana wenah uhhfirsh, imeanuh hammenuh…” I was so convinced he was having a stroke that even I started smelling toast.

I hope Nate reads this post just to butcher my name. I came around to this podcast about 6 months ago when my son was born, and I decided to go back to the beginning because I wanted to know the origins of the inside jokes. Many long walks to get my son to fall asleep while weirdly giggling at the podcast while my neighbors question if there really is a kid inside this laughing man’s stroller. This is the first episode I have had to wait for and the smile on my face just hearing the intro music makes me feel like I should go through it all again. Just want to say I love all of this content, and I appreciate seeing the Aaron demographic represented appropriately. Thank you all for this great podcast.

I was recently thinking that these would make great comedy specials by the boys… Brian Bates: “According to This” & Aaron Webber: “That’s Fair.” Maybe that being the case, Nate could be Nate Bargatze: “Un-BELIEV-able”

Every time Nate announces the sponsors, I feel like someone in that particular company loses their job.

We need to have some kind of "Folks After Dark" group for those of us up at 3am, intentially or unintentionally. Instead of Hellooo Folks it could be something like "Well Folks, here we are again"

Happy Anniversary to Nate and Laura!!! October 13th is also MY BIRTHDAY! I remember the day you got married because it was my 16th birthday. I was a sophomore in high school and played football, so we had a football game that night. I was not a Varsity starter but we still had to dress; so I figured I would spend my sweet sixteen birthday on a Friday the 13th on the sideline. BUT then the coach told me that the starting kicker was not going to be able to play that night, and since I was also a kicker he told me to warm up. I was so excited that I could be a part of my first varsity game ever on my birthday. I thought maybe this “Friday the 13th” birthday wouldn’t be so bad afterall. That was all dashed when the coach completely ignored me at the game, picked a random kid who had never kicked before, and let him do all the kickoffs while I stood on the sideline... in the rain... in the cold… on my birthday. The salt in the wound was that the other kid never kicked the ball more than 20 yards…… Worst. Birthday. Ever.

Hello folks! I will definitely use your line “is this not fun?!” any time people say “let’s take a fun one” when taking pictures from now on because I HATE “fun” pictures. Also, PLEASE do a special in Jacksonville! My husband and I were at the show and it was so great! He has been mad at me for a while because I didn’t comment sooner and invite you to the Jags-Titans game, so I’m glad you said that you had the golf thing so I don’t have to get divorced now. To reconcile with him, he wants me to invite you to play golf with him next time you are in the southeast Georgia/ northeast Florida area. Thank you guys so much for making these every week without fail! This podcast got me through a Wednesday PSAT testing at the high school I work at. I was given the honorable task of hall monitor duty and was not allowed to be on my phone or laptop the entire 5 hours of testing. I entertained myself by shimmying my earbuds up through my button-up shirt from my pocket so I can listen to the podcast while I stand around. If an administrator turned the corner I would flip the ear bud off my ear and would have to re-rig the whole thing again. Between that and having other hall monitors look at me weird when I giggled “randomly”, I stayed very entertained throughout the day. Thanks for helping me stay busy and entertained through your dedication and hard work week in and week out! I will try to see all you guys live before I die! Even Breakfast!

At 18:00 Nate: “Have I told this story before?” Blurry Face: “I don’t think so” [sitting worried not knowing what aimless story Nate is about to tell] Nate: Goes onto tell a 5 minute story he has already told on a previous episode about an old man who asked him “You still doing comedy?” at a golf tournament named after himself. Aaron: Immediately tells a funnier story and then goes onto insult Nate about his golf tournament. (classic Aaronland) Me: Dying laughing and rewatching this section of the episode several times! I loved Aaron dying laughing at the idea of putting tape on windows. I live in Florida, and while it may seem silly, but it’s the least you can do if you’re not going to board that window up for an incoming hurricane. Not too long after, Nate is relieved when he thinks the episode is about to wrap up, only for Beetlejuice to say he’s just getting started. Bless his heart. You all are great. Justin is great too. Tulsa show Nate, I have a couple of good stories for you. First, I bought tickets to your Tulsa show in April of 2020. I was newly divorced and had no date lined up but went ahead a got two tickets. Fast forward a year and a half later and not only did I have a date, but she is my wife. I literally had tickets longer than I’ve known my wife, but she is perfect, and your show was absolutely phenomenal. It was both of our first times to go to a comedy show and it was so much fun. Secondly, that was the shiniest zipper pull I’ve ever seen on a man’s jacket. It was like somebody was reflecting light with a mirror in our faces periodically throughout the show. Another couple that we are friends with also stated they were periodically blinded. Nevertheless, it was still a great show, but might want to turn down the jacket bling next time. Fun fact (kind of): apparently my great great grandmother was the first girl to be born in Oklahoma. I don’t know what year that was, and I’m not exactly sure what her name was, but I heard that from my granny one year. Also, if this makes it on the podcast, my last name is pronounced Bah-rah-haas. It’s the Spanish word for “cards.”

I am an Atlanta girl living in the South Netherlands, i hear NO one who sounds like me. So, hearing some funny Southern guys makes my day and helps me not be homesick. Thank you!

Nate, I'm catching up on old episodes (I'm a recent convert) on one episode you mention the differences between weddings in North and the South. We have a mutual friend and my wedding was her very first southern wedding to attend. Mandy told me later "I came to your wedding hungry." To which I replied, "you left hungry too didn't you." We laugh often about how I introduced her to the traditional church fellowship hall reception. Get there early or you may not even get a mint. Love the show! Thanks for the laughs!!!!!

Nate you're one of me and my kins favorite comedians, you kill clean and make us all laugh out loud, I hope your fans, me being one of them make you rich minus all the problems I have. This in order to get the full effect of the rolling, ongoing, inside jokes. In a world lacking interest in live TV Nateland keeps us anxious for Wednesday to hear the new episode. This is much like we used to wait an entire week for Seinfeld or Breezy Breath used to wait for FDR to give his fireside chat on the radio every week. Keep up the good work. Yeah and not in a fun way this time

This is my first up-to-date episode episode after catching up on all of them over the last few weeks! I had to comment because I thought for sure that I have heard my husband, a baseball fanatic, talk about a baseball team named the pistol shrimp. Turns out I was right, there is a team named the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp. It is part of the prospect league, a college summer league, and located in Peru, Illinois (very close to where my husband delivers for FedEx). Thank you all for making a podcast that is hilarious and clean!

I graduated in a class of 12 - yes 12- and have absolutely no interest in remembering any of them, let alone go to a reunion.

Love the podcast! The rant about how hurricanes give a two weeks notice is literally a James Greggory bit, also the bowl game in Shreveport is the Independence Bowl! Keep up the good work guys, also I love that Beltloop felt the need to let Nate know that the place in Oklahoma was not actually the center of the universe!

Coming from New Orleans, hurricanes often increase at the last second so you don’t have as often as you would think to prepare. The news mostly starts with category 1 or 2 and then at the last second a day or two before says it’s 3 or 4. Traffic is packed at that point when you’re trying to drive 3-4 hours away so you have no time to evacuate without running the risk of being stuck in your car during the storm on top of the issue of not having enough gas because everyone around either runs out or the lines are 1-2 hours long

I'm starting to believe this entire podcast is just a cover for a bank robbery, and each episode you get a little closer to the master plan. Forget the comedy pilot, you guys have all the makings for a great bank robbery movie.

best moment was at the 1:32:39-ish mark and Nate clearly says, "Storm Trooper" instead of "Storm Chaser", and nobody catches it. i feel like that was a missed opportunity for Tiny to jump in with, "Did you just say 'Storm Trooper'...?" Let's go, Folks.

I was at a Henry Cho show at Zanies in Nashville. During his Q & A with the audience, a lady most of assumed to be drunk started asking Henry about his wife. He sort of blew it off when she stood up and yelled, “where’s your wife NOW?” The air left the room, the audience began eyeing each other nervously, and the lady stumbled….and finally slurred out she had gone to high school with Mrs. Cho. I now kind of look forward to comedian Q & A’s.

I have been watching since episode 1. Now, all of a sudden, I am getting tons of Planet Fitness ads on KZread. Ugh. Love the podcast. Wish I had known Aaron was in Walhalla recently, only about 30 miles away.

How do you not mention that there is a town named Durant in Oklahoma and there was a petition to change the name to Westbrook after KD left the OKC Thunder. That’s classic nateland material

"Far and Away" was not based on the 1889 Land Run which opened the Unassigned Lands in Central Oklahoma. It was based on the Cherokee Strip Land Run in northwestern, Oklahoma of 1893.

Nate, I believe we experienced the same quake of 2011. I was visiting Virginia for work and this hit day 1. Where I'm from, I work on a base that test rockets, so like you, I thought it was a rocket until I realized I was in Virginia. Next thought was maybe a train, until people around me asked if I felt it, and I asked "Is that not normal"? He laughed and said "No, I think it was a earth quake". Aaron, I'm team hurricane, because it spawns hurricanes, life threatening winds and water surge.

at 23:03 the seinfeld moment nate is thinking of is from "the puffy shirt". when jerry complains about getting pirate theme heckles. he says someone yelled "avaste ye matie" then he says "theres no comeback for that!" ...i just happened to watch that episode on netflix last night lol.

I love Justin!!! As a K-State Alumni, I love hearing him talking about our amazing tailgating skills! (But I disagree on the Chipotle thing...I gave K-State A LOT of money...I think they are doing fine and don't need anymore of my money. Bring on Chipotle Folks!)

Hello Folks! Update from my comment that was read during the Game Show episode. My girlfriend and I are still together, miraculously! And we have a beautiful and healthy baby girl! After some convincing, I was able to get my girlfriend on board with the podcast, and she is now a Folk! We now watch the podcast together as a family! Thank you Bioluminescence, as soon as you start talking it puts my daughter right to sleep, almost instantly; so that’s been a big help during bed time! All jokes aside, thank you Nate, Aaron, and Big Mac for the many laughs and for reading my comment! I would love to see you all perform whenever you come to Detroit! Also, my last name is O’Brien, and the apostrophe in my name has never gotten enough respect

As a lifelong and die-hard Oklahoma Sooner fan, Justin spoke about OSU like a true aggie. Celebrating mediocrity and convincing Nate that true Oklahoman's cheer for OSU. There is a reason OU's stadium holds 86,000 people and sells out every game and OSU's stadium holds 55,000 people. OU leads the all-time series with 90 wins vs 18 for OSU. I'm sure OSU fans celebrate the 7 ties in the series as well. Nothing like kissing your sister, right? Of course, it's not surprising that Nate said he would be an OSU fan if he lived there...he does cheer for Vandy. Thanks for the laughs again guys! Keep it going.

Nate, I took my son to his first Florida Gators football game last week against your Vanderbilt Commodores. He had a blast, but as you know it was a 42-0 blowout. Towards the end my son felt so bad for Vandy that he was rooting for them to score some points. I too was thinking, please score once for Nate (because of you being a huge fan and famous athlete of that school). Oh well, we tried. Go Gators and Go Dores!

Anyone else think, just for a second, Nate was talking about Chris Cuomo helping him with golf?

Driving through South Dakota while listening to this episode and hit two deer shortly after the comment about hitting iguanas. They came out of nowhere and there was nothing I could do but break hard and hold straight. Fortunately everyone in the truck was fine. Not a pleasant experience and I imagine hitting multiple iguanas would also be pretty disgusting. Be careful on the roads folks! Love the podcast guys!

Hearing the government accidentally bombed a city in Oklahoma reminds me of “The Battle” that happened in my hometown of Palmdale California. It’s actually called “The Battle of Palmdale” and it’s considered one of the militaries greatest embarrassments. One of their hellcat drones they were testing in 1956 went haywire and just went to town flying around. The military decided the best way to get it down is to shoot it over a not very populated area. They proceeded to shoot 208 rockets trying to take it down and none of them actually were able to do it. A lot of the rockets exploded, but there was some that was around town that they told people to call the police of anyone sees one. The drone finally went down after it ran out of gas. Of course my hometown the only thing “famous” about it is it’s an embarrassment to the US military anytime someone mentions “Palmdale”. Love the podcast. Nate, Aaron, and Baboon make a great trio.

Hurricane Irma and we taped our windows. We didn't have shutters so 🤷‍♀️ it works in a pinch! And yeah, Aaron, you're way wrong about hurricanes being more frightening than tornadoes.

Justin Smith went to Yukon High School which is the same high school Garth Brooks went to. The tornado they were talking about when Nate was in town was probably the May 20, 2013 tornado which destroyed a lot of property and killed a number of people including school children. A local singer songwriter named Mike Hotsy has a song called "Fraidy Hole" which is a funny look at how Oklahomans deal with tornadoes. The Thunder basketball team got its name from a contest where people submitted name recommendations. The Thunder can be a weather reference or a reference to a "thundering herd" of bison. I am an Oklahoman and a Nate Bargatze fan. I did not get to see him last weekend but I will catch him some other time.

I found Nate's college football Direct TV commercial. He didn't get to wear any Vanderbilt stuff. Did Nate have any creative input on what teams' gear he "got" to wear? I'll go proofread this now.

Gah-lee folks, I can't believe I have to jump in again. My grandfather survived being shot down in a B-17 over occupied France. He is a member of the most successful bomb group of WWII. The "bombs" they used during training were packed with minimal explosives and sand just so the crew could see where it hit to assess accuracy.

I gave a good effort at trying to play golf, Nate. Tell breakfast sorry I emailed him the same email every 3 days for 3 weeks. Just out here shooting my shot trying to have a good time. Seya in OKC Friday night!

great episode, as an Oklahoman I would add one caveat: My great grandfather had an Indian trading post in Talihina Oklahoma for 20 years, had great relationships with the Choctaw Tribe and then one day the US Army showed up and told him they would be escorting him out of Indian Territory because of the land run and he would have to leave. He became a Sooner because he wasn't going to have his established business and property be picked up by some Yankee that stumbled across it. I think Dusty would have his back on this kind of "cheating".

Hiring Nate, who speaks to make a living yet stumbles over words like “monitoring” as he does an add read; is like hiring the guy missing four fingers across two hands to do your home renovations. Is it the best choice, probably not, but it’s all you can afford so you make it work! Love the podcast keep up the great work!
