We got a look at his true self, I really hope he can come in with his best and Khamzat doesn't just come in and try to lay on him. "You do steroids, I'll smoke weed and we can get in there and squab." -ONLY Nate DIaz
When Brett asked Nate, why Khamzat Chimaev, Nate was trying to explain that when he was an up and coming fighter, he had no desire to fight the legends of the sport at that time like BJ Penn, etc because he respected them but these modern day fighters take joy in knocking out or beating the legends of this new era like a Nate Diaz himself, or when Izzy beat Anderson Silva, or how Usman wanted to fight a retired GSP! I agree with nate!!! He's never not suprised me at any moment in his career. Fr, dude does deserve respect. Just his career proves it. He's been undercarded constantly. He can prove his worth in the ring, whether we like it or not. This is someone who doubted him in every big fight, but he showed up my expectations. Total respect from me, cause he does speak his mind as well. I used to not like him, but he is still who he is and is and not afraid of what comes too him. For his longevity it's great too see, just speaking honestly

They shouldn't be putting a 28 year old against a 37 year old at this elite level. T levels are higher in a 28 year old. The 28 year old doesn't have aging skin and old gash scars that can pop like a grape. Even old concussion damage from getting knocked around for 9 extra years. Khamzat is going to throw him around worse than Rory did 2011. I love Nate and even though I don't want him to lose, I'm afraid he's going to. UFC is wrong for this.
I think people misunderstand Nate, especially those that call him “delusional” when he claims he’s the goat. When he says he’s the goat, he means in the sense that, he’s been doing this since guys like Usman were in high school, Izzy was break dancing and GSP, Penn were the man. Basically, longevity, and influence is what he refers to when he states he’s the goat. Also the factor of not being put out cold whilst majority of fighters have been fighting less than him and yet have been KO’d numerous amount of times. And the fact that he’s never begged for anything or had to be the UFC’s puppet. Plus how he changed the game with CBD, picking his own fights etc. it’s a bigger picture than people realise.

Great interview. One of the greatest in the fight game ever. His point comes across. I am a fighter not an athlete coming to fight not to a sporting march. I control my own narrative, thats what brings me longevity. Pretty interesting look into his brain.
