For those of us who watched Ledua & Nat's interview on Fiji One, Nat's version was recorded one day after the original recording. So she did not copy the song from the airwaves. The composer, Ledua, wanted a woman's touch to the song. Nat was assigned the task. And she delivered beautifully. E matata na pronunciation. That's why she doesnt sing 'Itaukei' songs coz shis not fluent in the language therefore more effort is put into learning & perfecting the lyrics. Natalie mentioned singing 'Itaukei' songs with the Vude King, Seru Serevi & she sang 2 gospel numbers from way back in 2010. She has written her own material. Some are on KZread & others soon to be released with some 'Itaukei' songs due to public demand. Master Ledua wanted Nat's version released afew weeks after theirs to keep the momentum of its popularity. Unfortunately for Natalie the timing coincided with the passing of a loved one. May he RIP. For those who didn't watch the interview this might clarify some of your questions.

Bula Vinaka. It’s amazing how we can make critical analysis on face value. Your profession ma’am will know that. Furthermore your analysis is on point. It’s from the heart. Natalie has just lost her partner thus the heavy burden look and emotion while singing the song. Song has just been released about a month ago and the loss of Natalie just a week or so now. Chorus may speak volume to Natalie and all the other verses as she sings the song which she may find relevant to her current situation. It’s never easy accepting a loss of a loved one. Hidden in the words of the songs are so many metaphors that can speak to individual as they listen. Which is the intention of most song writers. Condolences to my OG and the prayer is that she finds peace from our Heavenly Father.

The song is about a woman who stepped out of her marriage for a while and realized that it was a mistake. Asking her husband to forgive her and accept her. But she also knows that things will never be the same again. The lyrics are mostly in the old traditional language that is hardly used these days, about love and forgiveness. When I listen to this song I'm missing my late hubby sooooo much 😢 💔 😭

I absolutely love this sad song and her voice was tailor made to bring tears. Through it I was able to watch in slow motion what happened in my love life once. I was young and inexperienced then but through the years (I’m 78 years old now) I have learned to respect whoever was with me in my journey of discovery. You never stop learning. Life is too short not to forgive or learn something new about yourself.

A great song indeed. I am from Solomon Islands and spent 3 good years at USP Laucala campus from 2008 to 2010. For the 3 whole years at Suva, I lived in an apartment (brown colour) at Flagstaff just above the Flagstaff Taxi base (don't know if the taxi base is still there now) opposite of the road from the Ports Authority Building (Road to MBHS). Thanks Natalie for your lovely twist of this song.

The rawness of emotions on her face is really touching. Her tone is very personal and heavy with pain and the way she delivered really made us feel her pain and heartache.
