“I still haven’t had that moment where I feel like I’ve made it,” says Natalie Portman, in the latest episode of our How I Got Here video series. “That’s what keeps me trying new things, because it doesn’t feel like a destination, it feels like a journey.”
Given that the actress has won an Oscar for her outstanding performance in Black Swan and also has a host of Golden Globes to her name, it would be hard for anyone to agree with this self-depreciating summary - and yet Portman’s quest for fresh, challenging roles has arguably made her the success she is today.

She was emotional...I liked that, shows how strong she is.
It’s so interesting how she described rejection as something that still hurts but you can’t be too thick-skinned ‘cause as actors they have to be sensitive to everything. I’ve always admired her as an actor and seeing her be so vulnerable and honest and still willing to be curious is so lovely. Her performance in May December is nothing short of incredible.
There are professional women...and then there is Ms. Natalie Portman. She is a person like none other. So candid..real. She seems fragile. But I think that is because of her sensitivity. Then she is the total opposite end of the spectrum. She's a hero.
I feel like her public personality changed tremendously in the last few years but in a very good way. She seems carefree, bluntly honest and serein. I love that for her. She bloomed in her forties ❤

Apart from being very beautiful and talented, she speaks very, very good English, I love it because she pronounces each syllable perfectly, that is, she has very good diction, which makes you understand very well what she speaks. It's a real delight to hear her speak. IMHO!

no one wanted to create this project... yeah .. once again people do not want to touch projects like the perks of being a wallflower, the crowded room, and this. hollywood is filled with people who take advantage of kids and so making a movie, that exposes this in different ways, they don't want to give these projects money. i am so glad it was made! charles performance is one that will stay with me for a long time. it was a very powerful movie with something to say.

Natalie Hershlag was born on June 9, 1981, in Jerusalem, to Jewish parents with roots in Poland From 1999 to 2003, Portman attended Harvard University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
