My father and I used to listen to this a lot when I was a kid. This reminds me of him. He passed away when I was 9 and now I'm 16 years old. I miss you and I will do my best to keep my promise that no matter what happens, I will finish my studies and will give mom the things that she deserves : )). I love you paaaaa.

Both my parents are still alive. (I think.) I've lived with my mother for as long as I can remember. My father put me through massive amounts of trauma at 3 years old. And still tries to manipulate me regularly.

This was one of the songs that the police officer played in her car when I was being taken to a crisis unit during my senior year. I haven't really listened to it on my own free will until now. Nearly four years later and I'm doing a lot better 💜

"You're a little late I'm already torn" I had some parts of this song playing in my mind for several days and I decided to check it out because, I didn't remember the lyrics. Funny thing is that I felt chills as I read the words because I waited years for someone to make the effort of taking things with me, from fantasy into reality but nothing ever happened. And although, I do feel torn that we couldn't have a chance at something real, I am so clear of who I am and what I am worth that, I didn't feel the need to cry anymore. Someone, who will want to be with me will come along someday and if not I now know that I will be just fine on my own 😉

Breakups are a lot like death. In fact, I think they are a good analogy for what happens when we die. Before you met this person, he/she did not exist in your life or in your heart. Then this person came and the eorld became more vibrant. You became inspired, the ordinary and dull, took on a magical quality, like the curtain brhind a light. But then you part ways forever, no turning back and the flow of time always moves you away. In your heart you hooe to one day reconnect, somewhere, someday, somehow. The light goes dull. The magic goes away, everything ordinary becomes less meaningful. In order to move on, this person must cease to mean anything to you. The heart stops. And you return to the state you were in prior to the inception of your love. What remains are the lessons you learned and in the case of life, the difference you made in others lives. All that remains is memories whether in your own mind and heart, or in the mind and heart of others. Some people treat love like it's business some some leadeds treat people like their cannon fodder. And while those people deserve the least romance, they are often the ones to get the most. I hope I didn't dishearten anyone. If you are struggling because you loved someone with all your heart, I really do hope you can meet again somewhere, at some time, somehow. But if you can't, I hope you get resuscitated with love again, so that at least once more, the ordinary can be magical again.

This was originally written by Anne Preven and two other members of the band Ednaswap. Natalie Imbruglia's version (the one you're listening to here) is a cover of the original. The original version has an extremely dark origin. The lyrics, "I'm cold and I am shamed lying naked on the floor" refer to the aftermath of her sexual assault. Saying that 'You're a little late. I'm already torn" refers to her attempt to have a sexual relationship with a new boyfriend in the aftermath of the assault.

I have very complicated relationship with my father, as he was an extreme narcissist while we were growing up. And there are many childhood wounds that it was very difficult to be healed. If not with my mother, I think he's nowhere where he is right now. If not with someone who truly cared despite his being.. I wish my family is just peaceful and loving. I wish to have a loving family

right? That lack of belonging, and when normal people come by they really dont get what PTSD hypervigilance looks like, or they may feel something is wrong with you because you choose not to be close to your family. But, I try to have friends, and hopefully that will help create a feeling of normalcy, and over time make us able to have a family of our own. Just dont rush in or out.

I love this song because my mum always plays it and she has done since i was very little. I remember reading peoples perspectives on this song and i saw a really good one on another site that said this (all credit goes to original commenter) "You meet a man, he is perfect, he seems to really care for you and you love him and you in your mind convince yourself that he is the one. As a woman you have built an illusion of what you believe is your perfect mate and you think you have found the man that matched your dream - he is perfect, he seems to really care for you and you love him and give yourself totally for you have convince yourself that he is the one. And you are again waiting for him to come to you - but he is late - and you are struck with the realization that he no longer rushes to be with you, you have ceased being important to his life - he does not love you back, he is bored with you - the conversation has run dry - he is not really giving to you, you are now just convenient just something to be used until he finds someone better. You suddenly see the truth and you lose all faith and hope for the relationship, you had given your all for this love which is nothing to him, you are torn, emotionally devastated, overwhelmed with shame that you gave so much to someone who gave so little and thus you feel so exposed, so naked bound and broken, you had given him everything, and your everything was nothing to him"

The way that one direction covered this 2010 and then 2015. Every time I hear this all I see is their faces scrunching up at every pinch of emotion as their voices carry out the feeling flawlessly. This is their song and I said what I said.

Happy “kickoff the summer” day and summer solstice!! June 20 of 2020!! Who else is enjoying this? Artist: Natalie Imbruglia Album: Left of the Middle Released: 1997 Genre: Pop Nominations: Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, More “Torn” Lyrics I thought I saw a man brought to life He was warm, he came around like he was dignified He showed me what it was to cry Well, you couldn't be that man I adored You don't seem to know, or seem to care what your heart is for But I don't know him anymore There's nothin' where he used to lie The conversation has run dry That's what's goin' on Nothing's fine, I'm torn I'm all out of faith This is how I feel I'm cold and I am shamed Lying naked on the floor Illusion never changed Into something real I'm wide awake and I can see The perfect sky is torn You're a little late I'm already torn So I guess the fortune teller's right Should've seen just what was there and not some holy light But you crawled beneath my veins and now I don't care, I had no luck I don't miss it… This is another track we are currently listening to & NOW in the club & I’ve uploaded it to our collective CHILLOUT & nostalgia playlists at: kzread.info/head/PLsJl7YnV1iDEOzzjuUgncbqBudD2bRxMj I’ll be back later on, today to work more on the Trinity Starr Virtual Night Club’s “DESERT RAVE” project. Music withdrawals are no good. Come party with us!! Please understand if I don’t reply as promptly as you’d like to messages. Thx
