@@coffeereaction Natalia is Mexican, born to a Mexican mother and a Chilean father. So other than Mon she didn't have to emigrate to arrive there, but her father did, so she also has influences from both countries and Chile - Mexico somehow seems to be a very successful combination... She grew up in a family of artists and her development was encouraged and supported in every way possible, she had not only singing lessons, but also learned to play several instruments at a professional level (guitar, piano, saxophone, flute) and even featured as an instrumentalist on other artist's recordings, also dancing and so on, in her parent's home it was all about art... As far as I get it, these guys here are not actually family, but "muses" (this is from a whole series of recordings she did, I watched a couple of them, and in each one she's collaborating with different older, maybe "retired" artists, I suppose those are artists who were inspiring her when she grew up (that's what the muses from ancient Greek mythology do...) and she asked them if she can come to visit them and record a song together... There's another very good and touching recording in this series where she's duetting with a very old lady, must be 80 or 90, but still a fabulous singer, must have been a diva in the prime of her career, very touching video... some of course, the younger ones are from her team of musicians and they appear in more videos... Yes, when I was going through the different performances of Natalia A & C had sent me, and thinking about which one I would ask you to do a reaction to, this song's lyrics stood out to me to be meant for you, I knew you would love it not only because of the coffee, but because of how she's painting a picture of a simple life and joy and happiness with little things, flowers, the sea and so on... Very enchanting song, mixed with a little sadness or nostalgia because she's not actually there and missing her homeland where all these things were natural and accessible. We can interpret that not only in the literal meaning of course... also in the video we have that duality, it actually looks like a very inviting place where you would love to stay, but the song is about missing that place... And how she arranged that song from an a capella intro to an almost fiesta like outburst of joy and still "saudade" as the Brasilians and Portuguese would say is really masterful... @@coffeereaction This is one of her new LP "About All Of The Flowers" (De Todas Las Flores) - crazy musicianship by all involved, the whole album is outrageous and brought her Latin Grammys this year... I highly recommend watching the full album lyric video with great footage of the recording sessions and lyrics in both Spanish and English, great work of art from the first to the last second. This is one peace from that LP, it's called "Muerte" (death) and is deeply philosophical and incredible music, the rest of the album is just as good but very versatile with many different styles and songs...
