For those who struggle with this; Remember that you have been blessed with the energy to overcome way more than you can ever imagine. Saturn is like the best parent/ supporter/ friend you never had :) It’s just asking you to do everything the hard way, no shortcuts, but boy will it deliver if you do so. Imagine that you are a simple rock like so many others . Your luck is that Saturn has just decided to turn you into a diamond in this lifetime, but it is going to take a long time and a scorching fire you’ll have to go through; and you have to do it alone. If you refuse the mission you end up as ash, if you embrace it you can become so much more than you’d have imagined as a kid. Take it from someone that has both Saturn square Sun and Moon 😊 Saturn is my favourite planet and I hope it will become yours as well :)

Your positivity is refreshing, thank you. I also have my natal sun and moon square Saturn and I suffer from depression but also have a lot of other aspect which are very hard so it might be those as well.

This is so perfect! The best description yet! So many years of resisting this aspect until i found out Oprah has it too. You blessed me when you mentioned the hard work required to develop excellence in creative expression! I sensed a strong frustration as a child with creative abilities yet drawn ti music, singing and visual arts. My authoritarian mother often denied me the lessons needed to hone the skills and child-rearing block me from lessons for many years although i bought supplies and equipment to self-study, yet thr doubts and fears stagnated me. Now im almost 50 and hv taken voice lessons and just took out my guitar in the middle of this video bf i got to the part about self-expression. I must also admit that my desire to do the arts were for the wrong reasons. It was for validation from others, rather than free self-expression. But you cannot do that if you dont like yourself! My mother made fun of me amd rejected me. Has taken a lot to decide to love myself regardless. So so much wonderful news here...i have sensed that other ppl's rejection is simply my own mirror of self-rejection. I work hard at overcoming this by learning to move forward doing what im passionate about and expressing myself without being dependent on ppl's responses, and also pampering myself and creating an environment of peace and softness (Saturn in Taurus in house 11). Ive been needing this info...it has come to me intuitively after all of these years, and it feels good to finally hear a well-studied professional confirm my inner knowings. This repeating pattern of needing validation is definitely karmic...SN in Leo H1, sun Aqua sq saturn Taurus (closed square), venus Aries conj chiron at MC opp Pluto in Libra H3, moon in cap in H7 trine Saturn. I am now teaching others what i am learning abt self-acceptance through my business....Sun in Aqua H8. I prob need to give you a call! Thank you so much!

This is probably the best description of my son Saturn relationship that I have heard❤. It is constant adjustment and recognition of both sides. When I was young my parents strongly dissuaded me from being playful and artistic and instead referred to me as a freak. I had this problem with adults in general thinking I was a freak when I was young. The reaction of my parents was to Attempt to normalize me so that I would not be in danger from the world. I have sun and Aries with an exact square to Saturn in Capricorn. Now that I am older and have been through a second Saturn return I find that I love discipline. It helps me make better self expressions. Which leads me to age denial. I don’t know if I deny my age but I think I look very young for being 62. I work out daily and I love lifting heavy in the gym and this is become part of my expression. I have retired but then I’ve gone back to work because I like the rhythm 😄. I also love having the extra money that being said, I am a teacher of life skills for adults with autism. 💖

I would just argue that having Saturn and the moon in Pisces does not create the same level of discipline you spoke of. But some of the general concepts I’d agree with.

I have this aspect with Saturn in Pisces intercepted in the 1st house squaring my Gemini sun in the 4th. Along with this, Saturn is part of a kite that touches my moon, mars, mercury, and jupiter. It also trines venus. Literally, the only things not directly touched by saturn, or in capricorn, are my north node and pluto in scorpio (which are still sextile to planets in capricorn). I feel like I'm continuously being kicked down throughout my life, but have built some serious determination to just keep going. I definitely have self-esteem issues, along with issues letting go of control/fear of failure, but have made progress easing up a bit on myself. More than once I've been referred to as "overly responsible", and I've never really loved being around those my own age. I was just born old lol. I'll be turning 27 shortly and I'll admit I'm a bit intimidated by my upcoming return. I have no idea if being so saturn heavy will make things easier or so much worse.

Hi, love your blog & observations I'd like to request a video observation of Pluto square midheaven aspect thanks ❗️

SN conjunct Saturn in H12 Scorpio w/ 1 square Sun conjunct Mercury in H3 Aqua and w/ 2 opposite Chiron H6 Taurus .... I take on others responsibilities and run away from my own responsibilities... Not fun.... No constructive results come out of this combination and it looks like I am my own victim. And I'm not good at self integration while accepting and being tolerant with most people. I don't yet accept people who postpone work in the job setting. So I reject my inner child who does not want to work😅 Now my question is, what is the kid doing in the work setting? At the job I often force myself to do the needed work. After hours I refuse to do the house chores... And people tell me I should take a break or relax... In my mond, yes I should take a break from my thought. Physically, I procrastinate a lot - so that I see as taking a constant break, which is why I don't understand those who tell me to take a break. I have a feeling they are talking about how they perceive me, not based on my actions.

Very informative! I could completely identify the tension between Sun-Leo vs Saturn-Capricorn, also the need of achieving and the regret of fun. I have Sun in Sagittarius in the 9th house and Saturn in Piesces in the 12th house, both direct. I wonder how these house positions add to the aspect.

Sun square Saturn here :) Feel like I Should share that I’m a 5th house stellium which helped me relate much more since 5th is ruled by Sun (my moon, mercury, Venus , and Jupiter all Scorpio in 5th ) Im also As well as a 6th house stellium (Sun, mars, Pluto, and north node) Sun& Pluto also being Scorpio and mars and north node in Sagittarius My Saturn falls into 9th house (sag house) So WOW ... lot of Scorp, Leo, Sag, Virgo energy here trying to push away the Cap (Ironic that I attract lot of Capricorn men) Even though Uranus and Neptune were in Capricorn when I was born And have my Sun Sextile them As well as the Uranus Neptune conjunction that happened 1993 It’s all coming together and making sense now. I am much more of a creative and visionary feeling like I’m part of the evolutionary awakening and helping transition into age of Aquarius it’s soo hard for me to accept social structures and have my freedom restricted but My “aim is to achieve a balance between the spiritual dimension of reality and ordinary life.” I feel closer to myself and my purpose every day. The language of astrology is so beautiful once you learn it and are able to read into your own chart you learn to love yourself 💜

Ah I hate this aspect so much 😩 also have Capricorn Rising with Neptune and Uranus in 1st House. I get a lot of inconjunctions to my Sun in Gemini from Pluto and Uranus and Neptune.

You look at what the faster moving planet is doing. To explain with an example, if Saturn is in Taurus, and the Sun is in Leo, the Sun is making an opening square to Saturn - the opening 90 degrees. If the Sun was in Aquarius on the other hand, the Sun would be making a closing square to Saturn. Following the order of the zodiac, that Aquarius Sun would be 270 degrees ahead, and would be making its final closing square to Saturn in Taurus.

Yes, this would be an example of a closing square, provided of course that the degree separation is 90.

Amelia I would apologise for you not finding it useful, but I really am not sorry. My style doesn't resonate with you, and that's quite fine. Other people are not distracted by my use of the word archetypal, but understand the astrological point being made, as well as the many themes I have outlined. It seems fairly obvious that you were not able to get past the first 2 and a half minutes of astrological theory, which sets up what is to come after. These videos are meant to show in step by step fashion how an aspect can be mentally approached or broken down (thus the use of the term "tutorial" in the title), and are designed to give a hearty outline of the themes of the aspect being considered.
