These have got to be one of the NASTIEST BOOTS I've worked on in quite some time. They literally smelled like they were left in the dang ole tool shed during a wet summer. EEWW!!!     With any other brand/maker of boots: red laces are probably meaningless. But with Docs... I probably would have refused to work on these.

    Good work, just goes to show you that even basic shampooing and conditioning you can bring back what prople thought were dead. I might catch flack from other shoe shiners, but with that Febings Saddle soap, I suggest you get it dry for a minute, wip off the excess and buff.. just that by itself will produce a dull shine.

    Yeah I had no idea about that either until someone else had brought it to my attention. I’ll give the owner the benefit of the doubt that he might not have known as well. It’s crazy that something as simple as a lace color can have such meaning.

    @@furyofthenorthman600 there’s a lot of misinformation out there that gets sensationalized by people that aren’t part of and don’t understand the culture. Especially due to the attempt to highjack the skinhead look but true skinheads are not fascists. But yes you can usually give them the benefit of the doubt unless they have other obvious signs like tattoos or patches.

    In the 90's when doc martens were still made in England they were crafted so much better and even felt better. Now that they're made in China they are terrible.

    Dude you really shouldve taken the red laces out of them. Certain coulored laces in docs can mean some pretty bad things in the doc community.
