A poor priest is falsely framed and killed for stealing the jewellery of a deity from the local village temple by the corrupt landlord Tiger (Amjad Khan). After the brutal death of his father, Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan) becomes an atheist and gets seperated from his mother and sister after their house is burnt down by Tiger's men. Shankar meets with his family years later in the city and decides to avenge the injustice done to him with the blood of the landlord. Will he succeed?
