Nash Scope OPS Transporter Review

Спорт

In this video, we look closely at the Nash Scope Ops Transporter. It's a pricey bit of kit but after using it for an entire year I go over the ins and outs of this compact carp gear storage option to help you decide if it will fit your angling needs.

    Excellent video I almost bought that one, I ended up buying the Sonik 3 rod Transporter. The top needs to be ridged like the Nash one. Good explanation of its features. Both are practical if you don't park to far from where you are setting up.

    I had a look at the Sonik Transporter as well for my bigger set up with Sonik Rods. Crazy how they're all a bit different to fit different reel seat locations (Dwarf vs Scope). With the Sonik Transporter, are the compartments inside moveable via velcro to accommodate different rods?

    Great Review, not many out there for the Scope Transporters, been contemplating them for a long time, but the 9ft version, for exactly what you described it for. After much deliberation I decided to just get some new 12ft rods, and brave this season out with existing gear and decide early next year if I want to go to 9ft scopes still.

    Yea, this does the trick for about 90% of the Angling here in Canada. Just the odd time I switch to the sleeves for easier transport on mobility. Excellent quality hence the price tag on the scope stuff. I agree in the 9ft or 6ft for it would be more manageable. What 12 ft rods did you decide to go with?

    As always a good review nathan i own a set of 9ft scopes and a set of the 6ft scope ops sawnoffs great rods the scope range tends to be good quality i also have top spec nash bedchair but some of nash gear does appear way over priced in my opinion but the scope range is quality here in the uk we use a barrow to carry our gear like a carporter etc we even use power versions that are 24v powered motors that can carry 150lbs of gear with an 8 mile battery range its quite rediculous now the carping scene in the uk im in my 50s now and remember when we turned a bucket upside down for a seat lol my wife would kill me if she knew how much us carpers can spend cheers bud and tightlines

    Yea I really like the Scope rods and you're right I should've opted for 9fts or 6fts like you have, I find the 10s a bit big. That Nash bedchair looks nice but yes pricey! I was going to pick one up but the price scared me off haha. The gear is adding up here too, I hope to do a video on "Less is More" in the future, in 2022 I tried to find the perfect small setup to allow me to get out on quicker short sessions. It was to the point where all the gear was hampering my motivation to get out there, just becoming to much work to haul it all around. We love all the kit though! haha

    great review mate 👏, do you know if the sonik 10ft extractors fit in the transporter ? i have the scope double rod holder and their a tight fit in there. i was contemplating getting the sonik one but i have heard one or two bad reviews of the sonik transporter, the bags inside tend to move away from the velcro once loaded with tackle ect.

    This is the 10' Model. Just measured and the 10' Scope rods are about 50.5 inches long that fit in it when broken down. The Reel Pouch is 15'' to 25'' from the base of the rods. I'm unsure how compact the Extractors are or where the reel seat sits so unsure if they'd fit it, you could figure it out with a quick measurement of yours. I like how the Sonik Transporter has the moveable pouches inside to accommodate other rods if need be, I have a few friends with it and they like it quite a bit. Hope this helps!

    I had a Special Ops transporter for my 10ft scope rods.... Brilliant piece of kit for keeping your rods protected, HOWEVER, they are so badly designed!!! Although the concept is brilliant, they are garbage!!! Why??? The top pockets are great, it's the internal storage GRRRRRR, its underneath the rods!!! So you have to take all your rods out to access the storage compartments... Which brings me to my point... Why didnt they put side access in? I have a Fox Barrow... The bags and all storage have access zips on the side so you on't have to take all the stuff off the top of the bag to get what's inside. WHY ON EARTH DIDNT NASH THINK OF THIS???? The potential behind the transporter would of been 1 million time bigger and better if they did so... You could get out all the important stuff out first, that you need before taking the rod out. Also, they needed to put walls around in inner compartments... They just flatten and loose shape without this!! Such a simple concept... I sold the transporter case, it really did my head in!!! You could potentially get everything in that transporter... Unfortunately, you have to take your gear out to access it!! Sorry for the gripe... They aint cheap neither!!!

  • @NathanKCutler

    @NathanKCutler

    No apologies are needed! I agree the inner pockets would be better with some sort of solid wall to hold their shape. I put some small buckets in them to make them keep their shape and not collapse. The idea of size zippers to access them would definitely make the Transporter a much more viable option for sure! I tend to use a 2-rod sleeve more often than the transporter these days. The only time I get it out now is for multiday trips where I can pretty much drive up to a spot and keep the transporter in the truck. Thanks for the reply. It will give others thinking of buying the transporter some added info to aid in their decision.

    @@NathanKCutler The point of the transporter is that you can get all your stuff in, and yes you can but, the way its designed kind of kills that idea... Lets just say, you can't put anything important that you need first , ie, rod pods, bite alarms etc, that those underneath pouches are perfect for, without taking your valuable rods and reels out & sticking them somewhere, while you get that stuff out... Like I say, it annoyed me that much because it didnt do what I wanted to, I sold it... Great concept, killed be bad design.

    Nash is pretty pricey, I've been happy with the quality of the items I have so far, although I don't own much of the luggage so can't say for certain. Wish I had a shop I could go into nearby and get hands on experience with more of the range. With most of the stuff sourced out of country I notice its almost a race to the bottom, whoever can make stuff the cheapest usually sells the most. I'm starting to look for options that cost a bit more to support higher quality. Ex. Made in the UK stuff is usually top notch. Fox stuff is hard to come by here in Canada, the little fox stalker pod has lasted me years with no issue, I had to order it from the USA.
