Jamal Evans true, in a way, but i disagree slightly. i think what salaam, is saying and vlad, fails to realise is, the difference between saying that Nas is the worst beat picker and saying that Nas goes against the grain and picks beats that are NOT hot/mainstream etc (beats that Vlad & other DJ's can't really play in clubs/radio) nas beats mostly only appeal to true Nas fans. i think nas, has used some of the best beats in hiphop.

ty will Drake is good in his own lane, and no one can debate his album sales. But as far as true Hip Hop is concerned? They're not on the same playing field lyrically, artistically, scheme-wise, etc. It's not even close. The problem with Vlad is that he convolutes the two instead of realizing that sales/cross-over ability and raw lyrics and wordplay are two completely different things. In my book, Drake isn't even top 50 all time, but I do enjoy his music and think it's catchy.

If he stood by it, he should defend it with actual pride points. Don't hide behind Nas, explain your craft, even if you don't feel like you have to. After years of listening to music, I've come to the realization that Nas is the best MC of all time. He took what Rakim did and perfectioned it. Nas discography might have some inosistencies, but as a hip hop artist, he is the Led Zeppelin of hip hop.

I agree. But, nothing's wrong with Nas' beats as they are. Vlad is just mad that Nas won't come on his show.

Vlad "Nas has the worst beat selection". Vlad in another video "Emenim is the G.o.a.t". This cat Vlad has an agenda to shit on Nas any chance he gets to Make Em (The White Hope) the greatest in the game. I think everybody low-key knows Nas is the illest to do it, so they try to find something to knock. If you really compare Nas's body of work to any solo artist in hip-hop history, there's really no comparison!!! Esco has 4-5 classic albums, while Em has so many plastic singles and really 1 classic album imo, but nobody ever brings this up? They overlooked those like James Brown with Elvis until MJ came along. Now I guess they're starting with the true goat Nas in hip-hop. Watch closely!!

Fairplay Terrific - Appreciated, I believe his classic LP's are Illmatic, It was written, Stillmatic, God's son and you throw in Lost Tapes. And all the other albums are dope (except Nastrodamas by Nas Standards). This dude Vlad is the reason why I believe in conspiracies lmao. Like let's line up Emenim's albums to Esco's. It's really not a comparison artistically. And I'm not saying Emenim is wack, but that's just how good Nas is.

God's Son is my favorite Nas album. People just say Illmatic because they want to pretend like they are real hip hop fans. Same thing with Reasonable Doubt. The Blueprint is Jay Z's best album. Me Against the World is 2Pac's best album. Life After Death is Biggie's best album.

It's funny I remember Nas pissing off the underground crowd with his commercial songs now the mainstream fans hate when he does not have enough radio singles. I bet if J.Cole made the N album and Kendrick made Life is Good fans would be going crazy right now.

Salaam Remi is dope and I always thought Theif’s Theme was bananas. Shout out to EZ Elpee too, one of the most overlooked producers!

"Take it in blood" has the illest beat ever. Nas could turn any beat into a dope track.

True artistry. Nas is top 5 even with bad beat picking. THats like one of the best basketball players still being in the hall of fame without winning multiple rings or being on dominant teams. Clockwork in terms of just rapping nas is goat but jay z wins as the overall artist.i am a lyricist and lived in queens in the 90's so nas is king.

This guy Salaam was super humble while explaining in detail how music works on a personal and professional level. He understands a lot more than he could say in one interview.

Vlad had a gripe about Nas using the same beat twice but when Salaam explained why he quickly changed the subject lol

Salaam handled himself with dignity and respect. Kids, this is what confidence and self-assurance looks like. It's calm and unflinching. Never loud and aggressive.

To this day, Streets Disciple is one of Nas's best albums to date. The live instruments and his flow, matched extremely well.

Nas doesn't want to use producers that consistently give the same type of beats to everyone else, and this is the key to his uniqueness. Too many people get conditioned to running with the herd, and only purely unique minded people have the vision to see, hear, and speak on a supreme code!

Nas + Trackmasters is one of the great producer artist combos ever.

after all these years Salaam still keeps it 100. Straight made Vladimir his Son.

Vlad - i disagree, Nas catalog is better than Jay's and Drake.

It’s not about the beat it’s about the story his music is like poetry it’s the story and the beat matches the story it complimented the mood in the story everything nas does musically is intentional and it’s the people who understand his work and loves the story who gets it regardless of how it sounds it’s like a conversation taking place like a verbal movie and the music sets the mood so you see it clearly
