I always rationalized that since summoning contracts are sealed with blood, and Kashin Koji is a clone of Jiraiya, he'd also have access to Jiraiya's pre-existing contracts. As for why he never summoned any of the big names like Gamabunta - that'd immediately blow his cover. When Madara tried summoning Kurama, the latter was able to identify who exactly was summoning him. If Kashin Koji tried summoning Gamabunta, Gamakichi, or Ma and Pa, they'd immediately tell Naruto that someone is using Jiraiya's summons. Having Amado work on low-level frogs, which we know Jiraiya also had access to (look at the small one he snuck into the Rain Village with) is way more discreet.

Naruto is essentially a subject of Chekhov's gun. Naruto was given polar particles( polar particles literally gave Hagaromo a buff. Could Naruto have been experiencing a delayed effect from not being half Otsutsuki?) Naruto was made an empty vessel(the ten tails are gonna inevitably have to be reformed back into a singular entity if anyone wants a chakra fruit). Naruto was placed frozen still in a dimension where there is potentially nature energy everywhere(what affect will the daikokuten dimension have on Naruto and Hinata's body other than preserving them in the moment they were placed there). An example of Chekhov's Gun is an unimportant gun being shown in chapter 1, only to be used later in the story. Naruto is the "gun," potentially. You don't set multiple things(concepts) up like this unless you plan on using them later. Unless Kishimoto makes a statement that says otherwise, I don’t believe for a second he has absolutely zero plans for Naruto( and no, I'm not saying Naruto will be the strongest, so don't try to interpret what I'm saying as that).

Ever since Naruto started using Sage Jutsu again, I always think of Naruto bond with Fukasaku like Jiraiya did in the fight against Pain. The reason he didn't originally was because of Kurama. So, now that he's dead, Naruto could probably now improve his Sage Jutsu even more.

Don't forget the only reason Pa even tried to do it with Naruto was to make sure he stayes Sage mode as long as he needs to be. Now Kurama is dead, So he should be able to go sage mode Ma and Pa.

He summoned ma and paso they can draw the sage energy for him. While he would move, they were technically standing still on his shoulders , so they could draw the nature energy in for him. At least from what I can remember

I don't think they can reverse summon Naruto from the dimension he's in but I like the idea of the memory stone not being affected by omnipotence, The toads would probably want to see how their Child of Prophecy died and then saw Kawaki put them into the Daikokuten. This would probably open up Mount Myoboku as an arc in Two Blue Vortex as Boruto might go there and get a summoning contract with Gamakichi, and possibly Sage Mode.

Sasuke summoning his eagle was not a plothole. The problem is distance. Remember Obito was capable of traveling to his Kamui dimension but could barely find Sasuke because of the distance between Kaguya's dimensions and the gigantic amount of chakra needed to open a portal to them. Keep in mind that even Adult Sasuke had to use a fair amount of chakra to travel through dimensions back and forth let alone Obito with Sakura's help.

It is also worth noting Kaguya' dimensions are all connected to the real world as in the shinobi world as is evident from each dimension having natural elements of earth. The kamui dimension on the other hand is stated to be a sealed dimension with Obito and Kashi having access to it, hence why nothing in the Kamui dimension is natural or at least resembles to earth

Maybe you can't summon or reverse summon in those pocket dimensions, Like Kamui and Daikokuten, because they are treated like sealing Dimensions. Similar to the realm of drunken dreams. Because it would be pointless to seal someone away if they could be recalled.

Since Boruto era Sasuke can use his rinnegan to pull himself between dimensions, I had always assumed his rinnegan is what allowed him to summon his bird across dimensions. And because it was untrained, it could only work in the context of summoning, which already uses some magic to pull bodies across physical space, presumably in a way similar to flying thunder god. If the summon is already being pulled through a pocket dimension to come to you, maybe the rinnegan could let you open the other end in a different dimension than the one it came from. And the reason why all the kage were needed to summon everyone back is because there were no summoning contracts with team 7 (because nobody thought to bring the toads to war). Of course it was probably just for the sake of “it’s cool for the final villain fight, don’t think about it too much”

That’s a good idea about the dimension travel that happens in summoning jutsu, and then the rinnegan can just amp that. It makes sense, especially with the animal path summons. They seem like they could be from another dimension. And that’s also a good point about why he needed the previous kage to bring them and all the tailed beasts back. No one had any contracts with team 7 or the tailed beasts at the time strong enough to bring them back.

yeah, sometimes it's best not to overthink the mechanics of certain abilities in anime. It's possible that Sasuke's Rinnegan allowed him to summon his bird across dimensions, but the details might not be explicitly explained. It could just be a cool factor for the final villain fight.

The Rinnegan has the animal path. Sasuke summoning his hawk could just be a use of that.

I feel that in that dimension Naruto is trapped in he should have that inner world that he had with Kurama and be able to commune with Hagoromo to study the six paths so when he emerges he has the chance to hold his own also I believe that the ending of Boruto will be them "fighting" the Otsutsuki god that Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto and Kawaki will come together to perform the Eye of the Moon but an Infinite Izanami that'll kill the god and they send out a message to the Otsutsuki clan, "so long as you come in peace, you'll be welcome here" kinda thing

I think reverse summoning works like you said across dimensions. But I think it takes a ridiculous amount of chakra to do. Ie look at how much chakra sasuke must use to go between dimensions and the hokage’s help to bring naruto and gang home goes with that too. Needed all that extra chakra to bring them back

Also, Obito had to use Sakura's Byakugo chakra to rescue Sasuke! Dimensional travel must take a lot of chakra, which explains why reverse summoning isn't able to occur. The animal summons just doesn't have the same chakra reserve to reverse summon an ally back from a different dimension.

Honestly, as of now, I think Kishimoto is playing fans and deliberately wants us to assume Naruto will be "shelved" for the rest of the story. Boruto is obviously the MC of Boruto, but being the MC of the franchise(aka Naruto)is on another scale entirely. Kishimoto isn't done with Naruto unless he explicitly says so.

I think that the normal ninja can’t reverse summon and that it takes an incredible ninja to essentially send themselves somewhere. Reverse summoning is essentially what Minato does with FTG and reverse summons himself to different marked kunai. And we know it takes 3 jonin level ninja to do FTG. We only see reverse summoning done by ninja that end up with incredible power as well.

One could argue Sasuke was juiced up on Sage chakra at the time with his moon seal and that was why he could summon Garuda but it’s anyone’s guess. I do like this explanation though. That there may be a power threshold or have some sort of space musk awareness of where you dimension & the summon’s dimension are located in relation to each other (something Sasuke might theoretically could do given his ability to hop dimensions) so if the crew wants to get Naruto back it’s not as easy as slamming a few hand seals.

Summoning and reverse summoning are interesting. Ftg is supposedly just a summoning/reverse summoning with your own tags. Also supposedly ftg rips a hole in space time moves you through a timeless dimension an puts you on the otherside with your tag. And i lowkey think that ftg wouldve saved naruto if he had ftg assuming he was sent in consciously. Also we have never seen it used like this but kishimoto could develope an upgrade to ftg that pulls objects to your location. And any hokage aid or a special team could have a seal on the current hokage and if he ever disappears they could pull him back. Granted konoha doesnt know naruto isnt dead so they wouldnt do this. Lastly, meh sasuke summoning the hawk is not as far fetched as one might think if ee arent considering this rule about dimensional travel. Sasukes is only outclassed in pure chakra amount and density in shippuden by naruto and kaguya. Arguable for jubidara. And summoning things with a lot of inherent chakra takes a lot of chakra to do. Hence not everyone can summon gamabunta. Therefore therefore, hagaromo probs used all the gokage bec naruto sasuke sakura and kakashi are all there and they all have massive amounts of chakra. Like you vaguely have two ppl with more chakra than the jubi. A healing seal sakura. And kakashi.

If Naruto is sealed in that dimension, it's unlikely that a summoning would work.The Seasl would have to be broken first. See Madara attempting to summon Kurama, or Madara First Briking Hagoromo and Hamura's Seal on Kaguya before being able to summon the Gheto Statchue.

I think the reason Naruto can’t be summoned back is because the space time dimension he’s in maybe also act as like a sealing jutsu since they’re frozen there. And we kno from Madara trying to summon Kurama that it won’t work if they’re sealed somewhere…..probably depending on how strong the seal is.

One correction, we do know one person who can summon from another dimension Sumire specifically. In Both the anime and Boruto novel Nue is expressly stated to be different because its from another dimension and its also why It could teleport itself out of the barrier to save Sumire from Mitsuki. Now obviously she can only summon Nue and not just anything from every dimension since she was bonded with Nue specifically but it's still not from this dimension.

@@ericmartinbenson No, because Sarada is also immune while Sasuke isn't so it's not because of her Uchiha blood either so their immunity must be for the same reason. We don't have the statement yet but a few theories exist. The one I believe personally is because Eida wants them immune, she can't controll Omnipotence and just like she subconsciously makes everyone love her with Omnipotence because of her wish to be loved she also wanted Sarada and Sumire to be her friends since she sees them as similar to her thanks to their crush on Boruto. So she makes them immune subconsciously because she wants them to be her friends for real and not because of her powers.

Hey Nick! Possible idea, I think when Naruto does actually return he will be amped heavily. One would think he'd be the same level as he was when entering the dikokoten but every picture I have seen Naruto and Hinata appear to be in a dream, not as though they entered a scary place and froze. Mental training is a real thing and a practice that has been used throughout naruto. One thing Naruto has above his peers is his inner "dimension". But he lost Kurama? He still has that practice as well as the connection to the other tailed beasts-"not saying he can access their chakra" but his skill along with the possible connection should allow him to have a "physical" area to train. When he eventually gets released; the Naruto we see will be a different beast entirely.

So... I think Mount Myoboku actually exists in a separate dimension. Even though Pain states that it would take some time to travel to there from Konoha, it is stated that only those who know the secret paths will be able to find it. Which doesn't make sense if it was on Earth, since it is not enclosed underground and is visible from the sky. It also isn't a small place to just not notice it. Here are my points: - The secret paths that lead to Mount Myoboku have portals or something similar along the way, that work the same way that the little ponds work between which toads can travel to/from Mount Myoboku. - Pain might have been misled by someone, since there's no reason he would know where it should be. Yes, he knew Jiraya well while they trained, but that wasn't for THAT long where they had time to travel along those long paths, and if he had no intention to train in sage mode - Jiraya wouldn't have any reason to take any of the kids there to let them know where it is. - The sun, sky color, clouds, vegetation and even things that they eat all seem very different from anything we've seen outside of that place. And the oil evaporating if it was taken outside Mount Myoboku suggests it can't exist outside of that dimension. - While Naruto's map doesn't work well and seems to only include a relatively small portion of the planet, there should not be any reason that no one ever travelled beyond the edge of those maps and couldn't report finding locations for such places as Mount Myoboku when returning back, and also there shouldn't be any reason for people to not exist outside of those same boundaries. - All those statues who turned stone - they had to find the place somehow, which contradicts the "fact" that no one would find the place without specifically knowing the secret paths. I don't believe the toads recruited so many people to almost certain death, knowing all the risks and talking them into trying. In conclusion, nothing makes sense and every fact contradicts one another. Oh well...

😅 That was alot... I understand it, but that gives A LOT of things to confuse me more in deeper thought. It would be pretty cool to see them do it, though. 😊 He'd be back

Sasuke has access to summoning and space/time jutsu maybe it was a combination jutsu? In theory shouldn't it be possible if you had both? Infinite tsukiomi may still require eye contact albeit with a significantly larger eye. So if the toads or the hawk were away from the moon either underground or the other side of the planet they would be un effected... right???

Not necessarily, cause hypothetically, there should have been people underground in the Naruto-verse or hidden from the eye of the moon, yet were effected. With this in mind, Sasuke blocking IT with Susanoo would be a plot hole, unless we bs it with otsutsuki power countering each other.

Couldn’t Konohamaru play a role? He has a contract with the toads. I don’t think he is a sage if I recall, but Naruto definitely added Konohamaru to the toad summoning contract, and I’m sure he’s brought Konohamaru there. Naruto taught him toads, rasaengan, etc…basically anything that Konohamaru could pick up from Naruto, he was eager to learn.

The reason Sasuke could call a summoning animal is because Kaguya brings a piece of another dimension to her location which connects that piece to the original dimension. Once she pulls the piece to her it is no longer cross dimensional travel, however I don't know why the bird wasn't affected by tsukyomi that is definitely plot hole

His mispronouncing stuff is going to trigger the hell out of you. It makes no sense that he does this since he a Naruto “expert” and has seen the anime

So of Naruto's back in the spotlight doesn't that mean it's just Naruto again and not boruto because clearly ever since boruto started it just feels like they're trying to meet Naruto have the spotlight all over again which just makes the series main character look like a attention seeker maybe that's just me but that's how I feel that it comes across because of the writers they went from boruto being about a kid trying to navigate the world be better than his father and you know all the other issues that was going on between Naruto's child in him to it being like you know what we need Naruto back in the spotlight 100% and don't get me wrong I love when we get to see a character we grew up watching become the strongest by the end of their series to the point where we can see them in a newer series with their kids being you know powerful old man type of character where we get to see them like come back and do crazy stuff all over again but even better up with Naruto it just doesn't feel like that was and I felt like boruto didn't really have great progression because of that

Maybe the hawk summon was possible because at that point sasuke had the six tomoe rennigan. We know it has dimensional travel capabilities, so it may have been able to impart that onto the summoning Hutus. Still doesn’t explain the birds immunity to infinite tsukiyomi though.

There are a few things that I'd like to point out. Firstly, Naruto has been using 6 paths sage mode with Kurama cloak until he lost Kurama. Secondly, Eida's omnipotence isn't a mere genjutsu, it can rewrite reality as a whole. So, it can't be broken as a traditional genjutsu, even killing Eida wouldn't work stated by Momoshiki himself.

Summoning Jutsu from other dimensions is like throwing a Rasengan, you can do it but very few people has actually tried it.

great now all i can think about is sasuke summoning a dead hawk and them both just dropping into the magma😭

The picture they watch the koji and jigen fight through is a toad but comes up like its tech like a camera i imagine they're like drones and modified

i believe mitsuki can use perfect sage mode due to orochimaru using a white zetsu body which has hashirama cells (i believe) explaining his ability to use sage mode

That bird wasn’t effected by infinite tsukiyomi because there were in another dimension and the jutsu already passed once the light from infinite tsukiyomi is gonna you’re not gonna be effected.

something you are overlooking is that sage of 6 needed the kages to summon all the tailed beasts plus kakashi naruto and sasuke, and the pink haired one...

The Raikages assistant can summon people to places however the strain on the body is only survivable at Raikage level, unless your Minato…or a giant hawk.

18:08 Sasuke had his six tomoe Rinnegan. Space-Time Ninjutsu. So it stands to reason that if you have STN, you can just summon any animals you have a contract with.

Could Sauske summoning the hawk in the lava dimension have been that since he has access to time/space ninjutsu due to his rinnegan at that point in the story so he was able to summon across dimensions?

I really liked this theory but the only problem i have with it is that at the beginning of Boruto kawaki tells boruto that he will send him to where he sent the 7th hokage which leads me to believe that Naruto won't come back this way and won't come back at all until after the Boruto and Kawaki fight because lets be honest Naruto's not going to be sitting down having a nice cup of tea as his sons are battling it out in a destroyed Konoha.

What if it has something to do with intellect and somehow that affects who, and what can be summoned

The rinnegan summoning animals probably function different from regular animals maybe allowing sasuke to summon them from within his rinnegan. As to why the bird wasn’t effected by infinite tsukyomi you could argue that it technically possessed rinnegan which made it immune like sasuke was

Only thing I can think of is that he trained with another toad and that it’s a giant area bigger than we thought, and not every thing or or every rumor gets around as fast as you think, that’s all I can come up with that either he trained with someone else, and they have no correlation to Ma and Pa or he gained sage mode other means, and then made a summoning contract. I don’t think there’s a particular order that you have to do those things. And I’m pretty sure there are steam toads. I just think this is a huge place and not everybody knows everybody. That is the only explanation.

Do the tailed beasts retain their memory after Ada's jutsu or are they affected like the rest

i feel it may have been like a tug of war like she didnt have a contract with them but brought them to a lava dimension and the kage didnt either
